Summers in Charlotte are warm and humid, and the city has plenty to do to cool off. There are outdoor pools and concerts, as well as establishments that sell icy drinks. However, be sure to bring sunscreen, too! The climate in Charlotte can be unpredictable. The city is located in the 546-square-mile county of Mecklenburg. During the winter, Charlotte may experience snowfall. In these conditions, it can be challenging to provide services and keep the city open.
Charlotte is home to many breweries. If you’re a beer enthusiast, you should visit a few of them. Olde Mecklenburg Brewery specializes in German-style beers. Heist Brewery is a Belgian-style brewery, and Birdsong Brewery is a bustling local hangout. Craft beer and fitness go together in Charlotte.
Charlotte’s residents are also passionate about sports. The city’s sports teams include the Carolina Panthers and Hornets, as well as the Carolina Knights. All three teams have stadiums in Uptown Charlotte. The Panthers play at Bank of America Stadium, while the Hornets play at Spectrum Center. The Knights play at BB&T Ballpark. In addition to professional sports, Charlotte has a minor-league hockey team – the Charlotte Checkers.
The Uptown neighborhood is home to many of Charlotte’s cultural attractions. The city was the site of the first gold rush in America. The federal government eventually opened a branch of the US Mint in Charlotte, which is now home to the Mint Museum. It’s also home to one of Charlotte’s safest neighborhoods, with a low crime rate.
