Things to Do in Charlotte North Carolina

Charlotte is known for its four distinct seasons, including Spring, Summer, and Fall. The Fall foliage is particularly beautiful, and the winters are mild, with snow rarely falling. The Charlotte Mountains also get fresh white powder when temperatures drop. The summers can get quite hot, but not as hot as they can be in other southern states.

The area that is now Charlotte was first settled by Europeans around 1755. In 1758, Thomas Spratt settled near Elizabeth, and Thomas Polk, the great-uncle of the U.S. president James K. Polk, settled nearby. Polk built his home near the intersection of two Native American trading paths: one that ran north-south along the Great Wagon Road and the other went east-west along Trade Street.

Charlotte is home to a plethora of activities and attractions, including the IMAX theatre, museums, and shows. There are also several sports teams, including the Charlotte Hornets and Panthers, as well as NASCAR. With more than 100 people moving to Charlotte each day, there is plenty of room for everyone.

For those who enjoy the arts, Charlotte is home to numerous festivals. In the fall, the Festival in the Park is held in Freedom Park, where you can enjoy live music, local food, and art exhibits. Another neighborhood worth exploring is Kings Drive Art Walk, which features art from local artists. It is also one of Charlotte’s safest neighborhoods, and has some of the city’s best schools and shopping areas.
