President Joe Biden will pardon two North Carolina turkeys for Thanksgiving on Monday.
The two males, named “Chocolate” and “Chip,” were raised on Circle S Ranch in Monroe by National Turkey Federation chairman Ronnie Parker.
“One of the honors of being chairman is being able to present The White House and President of the United States to these turkeys each year,” Parker said. “We got two picked out, they have presented their-self the best will make their trip to The White House.”
Biden will save the national turkey and its alternate, from becoming someone’s Thanksgiving dinner in one of the country’s most beloved traditions. This year’s ceremony, which is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 21, is the 7th anniversary of the presidential turkey pardon.
After the pardon, the turkeys are “going to go back to NC State, and live out the remainder of their life in a nice, comfortable turkey house there,” Parker said.

Things to Do in Charlotte, North Carolina
Located in North Carolina, Charlotte is one of the top cities to live in. If you’re looking for a city that offers a warm climate, Charlotte is for you. Although it’s not quite as warm as the south, Charlotte does have some nice weather. The winters aren’t as harsh as they are in the south, and Charlotte usually only sees snow once or twice a year.
If you’re looking for a great museum in Charlotte, the Mint Museum is a must-see. The museum features modern and classic art. It’s also a good place to learn about Charlotte’s history.
The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is also worth a visit. It has nearly one million pieces of art on display, including works by Jasper Johns and Edgar Degas. It’s open every day but Tuesday, and it hosts occasional temporary exhibitions.
Another good Charlotte attraction is the Funny Bus. It has an R-rating and is a fun way to see the city.
Charlotte is also a great place to find a craft brewery. There are over 18 craft breweries in Charlotte, and if you’re a fan of beer, you’ll definitely want to visit at least one of them. The Charlotte brewery scene has grown beyond its Southern barbecue roots, with several German and Belgian styles of brewing. There are tours available, too.
Charlotte is also a great place to see live music. There are many live music festivals throughout the year, including the Charlotte New Music Festival, which offers music workshops, lectures, and concerts. You can also check out the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, which is a popular venue for live entertainment. The center has great sound quality and well-arranged seats.
