Sunshine is back with slightly warmer temperatures

Monday & Tuesday
After a gloomy weekend, what a wonderful change to kick off a new week! Sky conditions will be mostly sunny this afternoon with highs reaching the mid-50s. Our normal high temperature for December 12th is 56° – exactly where we’ll end this afternoon. Overnight, expect a few more clouds and patchy fog.

Tuesday morning will be much colder than we have been lately. In fact, a light wind will allow for temperatures to fall to the low-mid 30s. It’ll be close to the freezing mark, but likely just above it due to the low clouds. Highs Tuesday will be colder in the low 50s, but still under a partly sunny sky.

Wednesday & Thursday
The Charlotte area is flipping the pattern again Wednesday and Thursday with rain returning and widespread cloud cover. It’ll be a cold rain on Wednesday with clouds, consistent showers, and highs only in the upper 40s.

We’ll have to watch this pattern closely due to more rain moving in overnight and Thursday. Heavy rain at times could allow for 1 – 3 inches of rainfall, leading to localized flooding. Be sure to stay weather aware! After this midweek front, we’re tracking a significant flip in the weather pattern by late December.
