Rain, heavy at times in the morning, with only scattered showers in the afternoon. High temperatures will be in the upper 40s. Skies should become partly cloudy late Thursday night, with lows in the upper 30s.

Friday-Sunday:

Look for mostly sunny skies all three days with high temperatures well below the December average 55 degrees. Friday’s high should be around 50 and in the mid to upper 40s Saturday and Sunday.

Things to Do in Charlotte, NC

Located in the state of North Carolina, Charlotte is a thriving metropolitan area that offers something for everyone. It’s easy to commute to Charlotte from other parts of the state, and it’s close to great lakes, mountains and beaches. It’s also known for its beer and wine scene, with hundreds of breweries.

The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is one of the best art-related Charlotte attractions. The museum features nearly 1 million pieces of art, including works by Jasper Johns and Edgar Degas. The museum is open every day except Tuesday.

The Bechtler Museum of Modern Arts also offers a world-class craft and design exhibition, a grand tour of American art and a permanent collection of African and European art. The museum’s aptly named Levine Museum of the New South explores the post-Civil War history of the South.

The Charlotte area is also home to a number of museums, including the NASCAR Hall of Fame. This fun attraction features films and interactive exhibits, as well as a full day’s worth of history and art.

Another interesting Charlotte attraction is the ImaginOn, a museum and library in Uptown. This fun interactive complex has two deluxe theaters, libraries for teens and preteens, a Makerspace, and other fun activities.

The NC State Medical School and UNCC are also located in Charlotte. Both colleges offer excellent value to local residents. The city is also home to a number of major companies, including Lowe’s, American Airlines, Bank of America and Wells Fargo. The unemployment rate in Charlotte is relatively low, at 4.9%.
