Charlotte, North Carolina is known as the “Queen City”. It’s a cosmopolitan metropolis in a thriving area of the country that has a lot to offer anyone. The city’s location on the Atlantic Ocean is a prime spot for people who enjoy the outdoors.
Charlotte is a relatively affordable town. It has a population of over 1.3 million and is home to a variety of notable museums. You can find the Levine Museum of the New South, the Mint Museum and the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts and Culture.
Charlotte is the location of the Confederate Navy Yard, which was built in 1862. After the Civil War, Charlotte became a center of manufacturing munitions and gunpowder. Other factories produced wool goods.
In addition, the city has the second largest banking center in the U.S. behind New York.
Charlotte’s climate is known to be mild. But the area does see a fair amount of rain and muggy summers.
As for food, Charlotte has many restaurants. There are a number of options, ranging from Greek kebobs to French and Italian cuisine. A few of the top-notch spots include The Fig Tree, YAFO Kitchen and Viva Chicken.
Charlotte’s public transit system, known as CATS, is a great way to avoid the commute. CATS also provides access to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
