Waterfowl have love of some residents and run afoul to others

Many residents of the Curtis Pond subdivision in Mooresville, NC have loved watching over ducks that have called the development’s 2.5 acre Phase 1 pond home for years. The residents are concerned because their new HOA board wants to remove some of the waterfowl over unspecified “liability” concerns.

My name is Denise rice I moved into Curtis pond with my husband about 18 Years ago back then our pond had a Couple of ducks and over the years they Were just getting killed by cars and it Was heartbreaking and the neighbors were Worried about what was going to happen With the last one and we thought well Let's get some more ducks in here so we Started a mission about three years ago Bringing in very very young Ducks from a Local Farm introducing them to the pond And last spring we completed our task With 30 ducks and three white Chinese Geese to protect them and they also keep Away the Canadian geese which is a perk And since then they have made it through Storms they've made it through winter They've made our pond live again we've Got islands for them to get out but safe They bring so much joy to so many people It would just be heartbreaking if this HOA figured out a way to take them out Of here It wouldn't be right to take the Situation that is so perfect and just as Disruptive that would just that would be Cruel I'll just be cruel oh here they Come come on baby Should we go
