Fantastic Um what can you tell us about that we Saw him pop up on the entry report what Can you tell us about Joseph Mora and His condition and how long you think He'll be out yeah Joseph actually I had The conversation with him today Um Uh is much better than we initially Feared he's still going to be out For at least two or three weeks But the first report and the first Uh Uh fear that we had after the game was a Lot worse than that so it was such a Relief to see him Uh Do an MRI that he showed not critical Damage and And I see him quite positive and I think He's just have to see how we respond to Treatment In the next couple of days just to give Us a little bit better idea though when It will be back but it doesn't look uh As bad as we thought thankfully Did you seek or receive any feedback From the league on the challenge that Took place there with Joseph or is that Something you didn't pursue No we didn't uh We didn't see that We didn't receive any feedback from the League
In terms of the goalkeeper decision this Weekend obviously with two games in Short order with open Cup on Tuesday how Does that Um how does that maybe go about how you Decide how to want to use your Goalkeepers knowing that you've had Carlina with uh Crown Legacy for a game Already yeah Yeah this is certainly a situation that We are analyzing with the with the staff In particular with with the coaching Staff with the goalkeeping Coaching staff and with the performance Department So we are monitoring what Christian does On on a daily basis because we want to Get him involved as soon as possible Last thing for me in terms of making Sure that it's more about the Performance than the result I know That's something that you've talked About a lot in your time here how are You dealing with the squad after the Result you guys took and making sure That the performance does at least meet The standards that you've set previously Here with your team Yeah I think that the last performance Was was acceptable I thought that Considering The the players that we Still missing in terms of leadership we Still are out
Kale we still about Guzman was still About Ashley and this is you know in Football as you normally talk about the Spinal cord of the team So to have the goalkeeper Central Defender Central midfielder you know This is not uh these are important Places for us and It's not to find excuses but I think That the boys are are doing particularly Well To To give a good account of themselves and To have that kind of leadership in the Team especially from the back it would Be very very important for us So I think the performance was Was good that they show good character To come back into the game we were very Close to win it if he wasn't for that uh Mistake at the end but this is part and Parcel of football and when you have Young players playing week in week out Uh this is what can happen is the way of Learning you know in any in any in any Job you learn by making mistakes so Football is not different from any other Human activity and when you play on a Weekly basis and then you have to Perform uh With expectations behind you that's why I always talk about managing Expectations because I understand that There is a lot of
Expectations here but they also they Have to be realistic expectations and to Give the boys time to you know to to Give us the time to get back the players That can help us at least in terms of Experience and I know that the front Office is very is very aware of that Thank you Christian good luck this Weekend thank you thank you will all Right Sam All right well uh speaking of players Who can help you the Irish football Press has been ablazed this week with uh Rumors about Charlotte FC uh trying to Acquire Jack Byrne Um The most recent report I saw was that Charlotte made a 425 Euro a thousand Euro offer that was rejected Um Uh obviously I know that you might not Be able to talk about the specifics of a Negotiation but at the very least could You talk about your relationship with Jack Byrne and why he's a player that The Charlotte FC might be interested in Yeah I worked with Jack in the past and The front office knows very well what is My view on how to prove the squad and How to help this group of players Because I think that we also need help In that sense So Jack is a player that for me is very Creative I know him well I coached him
In the past I know how much he can give Us or what qualities he can bring to the Table So I don't know all the ins and out of The negotiations it is not my my job Uh but there's a player that I rate Highly And specifically with him being a Midfielder what do you what space would He feel uh or what problem would he Solve by uh being part of the 11 or part Of the 20. The Jack has got characteristics uh that I don't want to do like a scouting Report in Holland Jack but I think that He brings he would bring to the table Characteristics that the front office is Very aware how I see the game and that We need in the in the squad that can Only benefit all all our players that They are here And what message do you have to fans and The squad going into The match against Columbus obviously uh The team has never beat Columbus but the Team has never lost to Columbus they're Doing pretty well they're in good form Um how are you going to execute the the Game and what can we look forward to on Saturday The message to the supporters is that to Keep supporting the the players because I can guarantee them that they are They are working really hard
On and with the great intensity and the Respect for the club So in my opinion they have to be proud Of them and they also understanding that Is a team that uh You know the expectations that they have On them okay that they they normally Fulfill them in terms of keeping the 100 On the pitch Um I understand that they want at least Part of the fan base wants to have Results now but in my opinion it's Important one put things into Perspective and to look uh You know the the way in which we are at The moment and At least to see that for example when we Played against Colorado this is a team That went to win in Kansas City and I Know from experience how difficult it is To get the results in Kansas They came here and I think we were quite Unlucky not to win the game so the boys In my opinion show Great Character great Determination and uh I thought that they gave The supporters a lot of reason to be Proud of them And finally I didn't catch it until I Saw it on TV later this week but after Camille scored his goal against Colorado You know he came up to the sideline gave You a hug that's not always the sort of Celebration we see usually it's with
With other players Um how important do you think your uh Relationship with Camille and your Belief in him has been to his success This year I think Camille is a player That Has been under a lot of scrutiny under a Lot of criticism in my opinion unfair as Well [Music] And he's a guy that is still relatively Young he's 24. it works hard He has been a lucky in certain things in Certain Situations not to Score goals or when he made assist Uh Maybe the player that received the Assist that didn't score and therefore He didn't count as an assist so you I Know that he has been criticized Heavily regarded these numbers but so Far it's go to goals he made goals It works really hard defensively I think He contributes more than people give him Credit for I trust his play I can see how much I Think that there is more leadership in Him And um I was simply very very happy for him Because I know that When you are under that kind of Criticism is always

Um obviously you kind of see the Groundwork being made for that that Developmental pathway uh in the team Like Columbus how valuable is that human Board for for Charlotte yeah of course This is the way the way it should be you Look at them you look at Philadelphia Look at all the teams that they are they Have been through this process before Give us time you know that's why I talk About these high expectations give us Time this is teams that they've been Going through this path for years and Years along the along the way they must Have had their own bumpy roads or bumpy Patches and then you you learn and you Move on so that's why I think that People have to put things in perspective Of course we want to go in every game to Try to win it to compete to win I know This only very well uh but it looks like That the the result the result is the Begin at the end of all and the result Is important especially at this level I Understand that but also there is a Process that we need to follow and there Is a process that we need to go through And uh I'm a big believer that if you do Things right in that way we will get uh Quicker to where we want to go everyone Us supporters front office ownership we Want we have the same objective to see Charlotte FC established as one of the Best teams in MLS but you have to give
