I am here with the number one overall Pick in the 2023 draft Bryce young Bryce Congratulations are you used to hearing That yet the number one overall pick no Not at all this is oh very very new Um you know this is it's still surreal I'm still trying to figure everything Out but this is a huge blessing um you Know I it's an amazing moment I'm just Super grateful for the opportunity what Was going through your head when Roger Goodell called your name yeah it was you Know you dream of almost like that you Know um you know hearing hearing your Name after Roger Goodell um you know Says who the pick is and um you know Just to be able to live that reality Um it's still it's I'm trying to put it All together in real time but it it's True we're just a few minutes out I Can't believe you have words you're Doing a great job being able to process This so you had uh you know you met with The Panthers quite a bit during the Draft process got to know them so what Makes you excited to play for this team I mean I'm I'm super excited um you know Being in the building um you know I was Able to be there while the players are Back um for my for my visit and you Could really tell the competitive Spirit You can tell that everyone was focused It was a really cool group but a guy a Group of guys that were that were driven
And you know I've heard that echoed from A lot of a lot of different people and That means a lot and then you know being Able to talk to everyone there from from The staff to the front office Um you know hearing about you know what They want from the quarterback position Um you know their philosophies and Coaching and just how involved and Invested they are um you know having Having Mr Tepper there and having Um you know and having the coaches all It really permeates throughout the the Building just the accountability that Everyone takes so you know just being Able to be coached by by the coaching Staff that I will be and be able to play Alongside the the players that I will um It's a huge blessing you said the word Blessing I know it's not just a blessing For you but for your family what does it Mean to share this moment with your Parents and your family yeah I mean it Means everything um you know having my Parents there and my family um you know People who supported me throughout my Entire life again you hear one name Called um but it takes a lot more than That there's a lot of people behind me That are the reason why I'm here today And to be able to have my family and my Parents there by my side through this um You know especially I wouldn't want it Any other way finally you know everyone
Is so excited to have you as part of the Carolina Panthers so what can players Coaches your new teammates fans expect From Bryce young um everything um you Know I'm going to give my all I'll give My all to this uh this franchise and you Know I don't take it lightly being Picked Um you know being being picked with with This team's first overall pick that Means a lot that means that they trusted Me and believed in me and you know I'm Going to do everything I can to to to to Make sure you know make good on that and Do all they can and you know to the fans Same thing I'm going to give everything I have you know I want to make everyone Everyone proud and make sure that you Know we're accomplishing those team Goals you know and I want to give a big Shout out to the fans out there at the Stadium watching uh the support I really Appreciate it you know it's a blessing To to be be part of the Panthers it's Still crazy to say and it's I'm super Honored um so I'm gonna give my all Congratulations thank you I appreciate You
