The Pros and Cons of Living in Charlotte, North Carolina
Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News
The pros of living in Charlotte are plentiful: a fast-growing city with a true city feel, great public transportation that makes owning a car optional depending on where you live, and a balance between southern comforts and metropolitan opportunities that attracts people from all walks of life. But that’s not to say it isn’t without its quirks: a sometimes muggy summer, a hot and often humid climate that makes it hard to go outside in the middle of the day, and the traffic that can cause headaches.
One of the biggest things that makes Charlotte a fun place to live is its many festivals and events. From film and porch fests to performing arts showcases and food and wine weeks, the Queen City celebrates its unique community with a plethora of entertaining happenings year-round.
Another big draw to Charlotte is its prowess in the world of sports. Whether you’re into basketball (the Charlotte Hornets are a major league team with vibrant team colors and cool merchandise) or golf, there’s something for every sports fan here. And if you’re not a fan of either of those, there are also minor league soccer, indoor football and ice hockey teams that can keep you entertained all season long.
Clear skies and warm temperatures entice Charlotteans to spend more time outside during the spring, and by mid-summer the sun is shining brightly. This makes it the perfect time to enjoy a refreshing pool swim or a day at the beach.
