Reich answered questions about Austin Corbett and Miles Sanders.
I'll just go ahead and open it up Oh thanks Yeah too many pre-snap penalties today I Thought we started out Decent on offense but then the defense Really had a good day today Um So just got to keep cleaning things it Was a good day I was excited about today I thought our intensity was really good Um you know we just can't fall into our Lapse on offense we've been having some Good days but today was not our best day Offensively The Advent days off yes uh And I'm sorry who's the second name uh Miles Sanders no Sanders um Sanders uh Did individual and then it had a little Tweak or something and then so we just Talked about him we said let's just Let's just take him out of team I think He's fine but let's just be Precautionary I'll let you know I Haven't talked to the docs yet so Okay Yeah yeah I don't I got to get with the Guys yeah Yeah I mean it's exciting I mean this is What it is I mean we're not we tell the Guys all the time we're not afraid to Make mistakes we got we're gonna make Mistakes we gotta learn from them and Get better so um This was a good day
Um we'll learn we'll learn from the Mistakes we'll learn from the mistakes That we made and excited about that um This is this is what happens in training Camp you got to keep iterating right you Just got to keep iterating you got to Work out the Kinks get the timing right Get the you know get all the mechanics Right all the operational stuff right Still play with great intensity and you Know today the defense got the better How do you coach something like Preventing Foods is it just a discipline It's just a discipline and focused thing And you know honestly we've been pretty Good Um you know all the camp and you know a Little bit hotter today a little bit Hotter you know a little bit more humid Um you know in pads you know in day Whatever so you know a little bit so That's great that's great opportunity to Work through that guy because we all Know that's what it's going to be like On game day you're going to get tired And we've got to be able to concentrate And work through that yesterday I think you know I don't think anything Really gets to Bryce you know I think He's really hard on himself more than Anybody Um so yeah I You know in the quarterback initially You just got to be unflappable and I and
I think we all know Bryce has that Gene You know nothing really changes that Paul his pulse so Um but yet He's the ultimate competitor you know He's got that drive to be great so That's what you want and Uh You know and I see him talking to Receivers working things out and here's The other thing to keep in mind You know we're an install six And we're not you know so we're calling Our Red Zone install plays And we're that we're not game planning Against a certain coverage and you know So we're not getting them you know we Might not even have these plays in Against You know normally against the coverages That we're seeing but we got to get them Run and we still got to be able to find Completion so that's not an excuse for Not not having a good day at all but um Those things all factor in I didn't have a chance to talk to him Yet you know I mean we we had one PL you Know if the drive worked out pretty much Exactly like we wanted it to Um You know I wanted to try to we needed a Touchdown and I was hoping to kind of Get in we've been today was kind of an Ending game plays a little emphasis so I
Wanted to get there where we had to run One of our specialty plays and I haven't Talked to him yet but I think he was Expecting somebody to do something Different than what they did but um And then I ended up blowing the whistle Just a little bit early because it Didn't quite develop and I was just I Didn't want to see a big Collision in the end zone Not really I mean you know he's in that He's in that mold right he's got all the Quarterback traits um cool calm and Collected wants to be coached hard Um you know wants to grow wants to get Better So yeah same way Great I mean it's like Two dudes saying all right so what what Happened there all right so here's what We're trying to let's talk about what We're trying to get done there okay well Did the receiver what do you think the Receiver was going to do Um you know so sometimes it's just like That or other times it may be you know The the conversation may be Maybe something he hasn't seen a lot in This league so maybe there's a rare Instance where it's Josh or myself or Thomas saying hey I know what I know What you saw there but here's what Here's what we think on this Play here's How we think it's going to play out
Most of the time it's just we're just Collaborating together talking about What we saw what we got to do to to get It right right has with marquis's injury In fact what you all would potentially Do looking outside for him it could Impact it you know I mean you know we Got us we got to see what kind of Progress he continues to make Um you know because he's You know we're excited about you know The role that he's going to play in our Defense so hopefully hopefully uh you Know he makes good progress soon but We'll keep you know keep talking through That Scott and I've been talking through That a lot here in the last week so We'll see how it plays out Yeah we've been talking you know we've We've had discuss you know since Marquis Got hurt you know we've been having Those discussions you know don't don't Want to jump the gun early wanted to Really see how it worked out with Marquis but keeping up keeping a pulse On that we saw coach Jefferson out there Like what is it what is it he's 54 years Old what is it like I love that I mean I Love that man right there I mean he's Just one of he's one of one he is one of One and um You know it means so much to him and you Know and he takes it personal and so he Loves his guys and he loves his guy we
All do but he's got a unique delivery And a unique way of coaching and uh well You know one trading for anybody in the World Frank uh another former player Turned coach D'Angelo ball he's given His first opportunity what have you Noticed about his teaching style and his D'Angelo is such a good coach I mean I Am truly like amazed at you know a lot Of times former players it takes a Couple years to kind of get Some of that former player out of you And become a coach and be able to see be Able to understand that our days are Over this is their day and we don't have To talk about our day all we're focused On is their day you know he gets it I Mean he's He's helping the guys he's he's making An impact Um I think he's bringing out the best in That group he's got the right mind he's Got that he's got the right mindset I Think he's adding a lot to the equation He kind of took a break from the field Of the TV stuff you obviously took your Break from how much from that kind of Help gain gain perspective at least when It comes to transitioning I think it Probably does you know and You know because you have a chance to Kind of process through all of it and You know he Went ahead and did some Media stuff and
Did great and was good at it and but Just knew that this is where he wanted To be and so I think he just had kind of Come to grips of you know what it takes To be a coach probably reflected on his Coaches and saw some other stuff but He's a very uh intense focused mature Person Offensive lineman through rotated some Guys what is it about Jensen that kind Of made you want to give him a few snaps With the ones he just you know he's been Uh he's flashed you know he's been he's Been consistent uh you know like what He's been doing uh I think camping's Done a good job like you said down you Know just rotating those guys through Giving guys a chance to see what they Can do Um against the bet you know always Upping the upping the stakes and going Against the wands or whatever the case May be but Nash's look good Corvette Um still optimistic you know he's still Ahead of schedule quote unquote ahead of Schedule but we're not rushing that Right I mean we're not anticipating him Being ready for you know week one right I mean so Um we'll just be patient Um he's doing great I mean uh if you Watched him move around you'd say he Looks like he could play week one but
You know that kind of injury You go somewhat by The progress that they're making and Then to that injury there's also some Like it just takes What It Takes as far As time and you don't you know years of History on that injury tell you don't Rush that even though when they're way Ahead of schedule It's still better to be cautious and Don't get them in there too soon All right thanks guys
