No matter what type of resident you are, you’ll find plenty to do in Charlotte. The city puts on a wide variety of festivals throughout the year that showcase local culture and cuisine. The city’s economy is booming, and some of the nation’s top employers call it home. Bank of America and Wells Fargo are just a couple of the big businesses that employ many people in the Queen City. The healthcare industry also thrives here with nationally ranked Novant Health and Carolinas Healthcare System. But you’ll also find a large number of automotive manufacturers, as well as a growing tech scene at the North Carolina Research Campus.
A few things you should know about the culture here: a lot of people speak with a southern twang, and church is still very much part of the weekend routine for most residents. And while the city has a buzzy nightlife, it’s pretty laid back during the day and on Sundays. It might surprise some who’ve relocated from more hectic cities, but Charlotte doesn’t pretend to be anything but chill.
