Hi everyone uh we've got Chris montanzo Here for you let's go ahead and get Started Um we'll plastic we'll start with you And then we'll go to Jorge and then Carol after that Afternoon Christian how are you Afternoon will I'm fine thank you Um I know that uh usually we'll start Off with an availability question but to My knowledge doesn't seem like there is Any question but can you just confirm That everybody who played Saturday or Everybody you had available Saturdays Available for Wednesday Yeah everybody Is at disposal yes which is which is Good from From our part of the boys put a good Effort at least physically they put a Good effort so but everybody is Available When you have a problem like not getting Enough shots on target what work is done Is that film is that more work in Training you know how do you fix that Particular problem and issue Well in this case we'll we we didn't Have a lot of time we are not blessed With a lot of time between games but Usually we did both anyway we keep Working and we know that uh That there is no there are no shortcuts In life right not just in football but
In general you have to put the work you Have to put the hours you have to put The effort and and we try to maximize The time that we have with the boys Obviously the day after the game the Squad that played most minutes they you Have to maximize recovery so we did Videos with them showing what we need to Improve uh in And then after we did also work on the Pitch Both yesterday and today we keep going Keep working In terms of your personnel moves and Decisions you know with seven games left Does it come down to a situation where Desperate's not the right word but you May be from a patient's standpoint get a Little bit of a shorter patience knowing How important it is to to gain and grind Out results down the stretch Is very important I don't like to use uh I agree with you I don't like to use the Word desperation Um I think that we need to We need to approach every game with the Possible with the strongest possible Mindset and to train very well game by Game So to put the intensity high in what we Do and [Music] Improving keep improving even at this Stage of the season because I think that
There is always room for that No of course we know that every game is Important we knew from day one and I Think our boys are playing always to try To win the game whether we play home or Away uh We always go with this idea sometimes we We can sometimes we don't but uh Our approach is always the same and we Need to be Um we need to be as focused as Um Strong as uh You know determined as as ever Uh lastly for me I know your thoughts Right after the game might have evolved On it but I know you were rather Sheepish about whether or not you'd put Enzo and Care on the field together or Just after further evaluation how do you Feel like that uh that reuniting on the Field happened on Saturday what were Your thoughts and impressions of it Listen after that after all they haven't Been together a lot and you need to give People time to develop a relationship on The field obviously they train together The game is is a different challenge As We Know but uh I think that the the Combination of Enzo and Carol is very Very important for us at this stage And they need to understand the Responsibility that they have and they Need to play strong and to make sure

With the way both of them they've played Ben is growing into the position as well Giving us this uh possibility also to Come with the left footed player coming Inside and on his strong foot And to look at the game inside and also Off the ball I think the day of Uh a certain dynamism even the one we Want with the ball and without the ball So it's something that that I've been Enjoying and I think the last three Games We have done the last four games even With practice the start in that position Against lafc I think that they've done Pretty well For me Um last time Philadelphia Union came to Charlotte uh they were chasing for Supporter Shield number one in the East There was a great game by Charlotte Four-nail with that four goes from Rios What can you take from that game or what Are some of the things that you'd like To see in this game Um you know to kind of shift that Momentum again Towards Charlotte's side Yeah and I remember that game really Well because In that game everything clicked so Um I think We we played with a good spirit but we
Are playing with the good spirit again Sometimes around this club I feel that There is You know The moment look like that we are losing Game every week I think that the boys are playing really Well against everybody and they are Giving really a lot of credibility to Our football club and I know that people Only want to see Winds which is what we would like as Well and that's what we want to do On a weekly basis but I need to as a Coach I need to have a different Perspective I need to see if the team is Improving if the team is going in the Right direction And so what I want to take from that Game obviously is to have the uh that Kind of Uh To click like everything happened Everything we did it went well that game And to give the spirit but I think as a Team They evolved we evolved Um I don't think that we are Worse worst in the last year I think That in my opinion we have all been in a Better way as we are playing at the Moment But the the vibe sometimes I get is that People just identify the the result with

Towards the team in playing well Together in playing well individually And to play well as a partnership With the ball without the ball And then they also unders need to Understand the need that the team has In general 12 leaders that they bring the the team Together and they have they have a big Responsibility in my eyes about that so These things about who's taking the Penalty or not for me is Yeah is is I don't want to say silly but There are a lot more important things That they we need to focus on they need To focus on in order to get The partnership Going because They are there are different Characteristics and they can be really Really good For Charlotte FC Given that the way that they can play With the system with the chances that we Create And so their input is uh is vitally Important for us So it's understood right now it's Carol's to take if he wants it I think I think so but it's important It's important to that there are other Things that can happen in the game that You know you can give it but yeah at This moment yes but is uh
I think as usual we are focusing on the On the margin of things we're not Focusing on the on the on the important Things yeah Um I get a guy on Twitter who asked me This all the time so I'm going to go Ahead and ask you Um and I know it's not a normal weight But on a normal week what kind of film Study do you guys do is it mostly Individual with a coach and a player or Is it as a team where you're looking at No okay I understand these uh no we Normally do we do a lot of video We basically will review our game model One day we do us with the ball and we Then on that day we presented the Opposition The way they defend and then we do the Opposite on another day where we review Our defensive game and we see the Opposition with the ball Plus also there are many other one to One that I have that my assistants also Have Christian PA the goalkeeping coach Without with the analyst Rowan and all The videos that we do specific against The opponents we play against or how They played in certain circumstances but Obviously video is a very important part Of our training especially in those Weeks in which you cannot train that Much because you have three games and Physically you are limited to the to the
Training that you can do you you get Feedback from players on those do you Open the floor or is it usually coach to Player No no no no no obviously we present Certain things we show what we have done Well what we need to improve but there Is always room for question there is Always room for interaction Thanks Christian you're welcome All right John Lupo it's like the last One with a hand up Thank you uh good afternoon Christian How are you hey John good afternoon Thank you you I'm good thank you uh the Last four games you've had more than 60 Percent of possession but the opponents Have had more shots on goal but they Also haven't had a lot of goals so how Do you balance something like that where You mentioned you want to obviously Score more goals and be more productive In attack but how do you balance being Able to get more out of your possession While also continuing to limit the Amount of goals the opposition scores And try to cut down on how many shots on Target they have But this is the growl of every coach is To get the the balance right where you Until you play the ideal game where you Only create and you don't consider Anything Uh
Uh I think that to find the right Balance obviously is very important I Always think that Um The I prefer the style of football in Which we create more sometimes we Concede Control attack and we concede chances But I want a team that is able to Create and to make plays uh Constantly in the game or to manage the Ball and to have more ball possession Then after like you say you need to find The right balance between How much you create how much you you Concede but I think that in the last Let's say with the last four games I Think that you mentioned I think in the Last four games we had enough chances to Win the game and we were a lot close to Win the draws rather than to lose those Drugs even though after you can lose the Game sir because you know when you When you are very close in the scoreline Until the very end anything can happen But I think we should have been Uh far away and we should have been Running away with the game before and Then after the the last Community Equalizer the last minute chance that The opposition can have they count for a Lot less so this is a obviously we need To improve the balance of conceding as Least as possible but also to maximize
When we we have the chances to Um To deliver both we had uh I think it was The third game in which we had most Crosses in all season and unfortunately Our uh distribution and our delivery was Not uh was not great in the last game A Jerry Ronin I hope I'm pronouncing That correctly he's got the defender Yeah yeah yeah Yes he's I see he started the last Couple of games how would you say he's Fit in and how he's played since you Signed him got him up to speed with your System uh how would you assess his Overall performance so far Yeah yeah he's a guy that uh brings a Lot of experience from calmness he's a Company and he's getting he's getting Used to the way we want to play he was He never played uh in this uh in the in The way that we want to play before or At least not to that extent So you have to give him a little bit of Time because every coach has his own Wants his or he wants to play the game And But he understand and the I can see him Improving Uh He also he didn't play any game when he Arrived here he was coming from Pre-season but we know that even in uh In in every tournament and in Europe
Because he was in in France Uh even now you start seeing themes that It takes a few games before you can see The the players you know firing on all Cylinders so for him it's the same he Arrived in a league that was already up And running with many games already Played with many A With many teams already finding a Balance so he needed just to get into The Rhythm and uh I think he you need to Give him Time and you have to give him the Opportunity to do that in order to to See him at his best Uh last one for me obviously we know how Good Philadelphia is and we know Jim is A tremendous manager when when you go up Against them What makes him so good what makes their System work so effectively what do you Think that they do that maybe you can Take advantage of Jack Elliott won't be Playing because he was he picked up a Red card against Cincinnati but but what Is it what do you I guess maybe the word Is admire about Jim and his system and Just looking at the way they play what Do you think are some of the things Maybe you can take advantage of Right he's a very complex question Because I said in the past that I think Jim is one of the best coaches in this
League and one thing that I like about These teams is that they have clarity And they And credit to the club that they gave Him a lot of time to develop his style Even when he was When he was questioned but they had very Clear as a club how they wanted to go so Jim has been doing a tremendous work but Also I think the front office have done A tremendous job in order to understand What kind of characteristics they need To play the game that they want to play And find in the the players that they Are Right for the system which is what I Think every football club should be Aiming to not necessarily from that System not necessarily that where you're Playing but we have Clarity whatever However you want to play football I Think you should You shoot the look to To the model that they have created to Have clarity about the way they want to Go about as a club and just to be Aligned in that sense Then after we know that you play against Them is a team that is very Uh very Dynamic very Uh that is a running team is a team that Likes to to play aggressively with the Ball without the ball And we need to match that and we need to
