Ejiro Evero talks about taking the right steps

Evero spoke on how the defense is preparing to defend against DK Metcalf.

Just wanted to start off by saying um You know obviously this is not where we Wanted to be oh and to um we have hikes Higher expectations for ourselves than That and um but that being said very Encouraged about uh our team our defense Our special teams all of it and I feel Like uh you know the process is right We're taking the net the right steps and We're going to continue to work and uh Optimistic about what we could do in the Future so Um I want to give a little kudos to our Coaches on the defensive side Todd wash Tim lookaboo And Peter Hansen uh Bert Watts Jonathan Cooley Bobby mcfay D Hall Um mayor all of those guys are just Doing an outstanding job and they're Really um they're in tune with their Players they're great teachers they're Working their butts off and I couldn't Do it without them and then the last Part is just you know Shaq's deal is Unfortunate and um you know but talk About a professional a player that I Admire as much as any player I've ever Been around and uh he's a leader he's a He's a heck of a football player he's a Communicator he's a team Builder he's a Glue guy and we're definitely going to Miss him but obviously The Show Goes On So

Would have been his words to you and Your words to him by saying you guys Have taught yeah it's just um looking Forward you know we can't change what's Happened and uh so uh the biggest thing For us is just um for him is to uh get His rehab get all that stuff done and as A defense we're going to continue to go With the next guy up and uh he Understands that uh you know his role Can be to help and support those guys in The classroom being around and all that Stuff and he's going to do that so for The leadership standpoint filling that Void or the safeties kind of those guys To have to step up from the Communication standpoint yeah it's got To come from a lot of different people It's got to come from the safeties it's Got to come from the d-line you know There's some communication they got to Do uh both ilb's got to talk you know so It's uh it's got to come from a lot of Different places all right planning to Go Kamu or will it be a rotation we're Still trying to work through all of Those different things yeah you know we We felt really good about how kamu Played in the game Debo's uh obviously is going to be up Now he's going to provide some depth and We're kind of working through all those Rotational things Chandler Wooten is in

Play so we're kind of considering Everybody what does kamu bring to the Team Very athletic very smart very stable but You know him and Debo are similar type Of players they're both guys that are You know really good skill set in terms Of coverage run into the ball both smart Guys so with a rotation like that how do You kind of figure out who's going to Wear the Green Dot and and kind of make The balls yeah that's all part of you Know what we're trying to evaluate right Now you know we have in uh cemented Every anything yet we want to uh give Everybody a chance see what our options Are so much of that too is just not uh You got to figure out who's going to be On the field all the time right it can Be a deal that somebody's in and out and Having a Green Dot so that's part of it 30 obviously in percentages of Jeremy Chin playing in this game what fact this Past game compared to week one what Factored into that Just the flow of the game uh the first Week there was obviously was a more of a Run heavy deal and this week you know The game became a lot more of a pass Game until the end and uh that's where Jeremy's uh you know role is right now Um there's gonna be some third down Roles as well but we're again as you Know this the deal with Shaq has a

Trickle-down effect so we're kind of Working through all those different Things Quickly I'm Frankie and the job that He's doing for the last two weeks he's Phenomenal he's phenomenal a great Player uh playing off the ball he could Play on the edge he's a weapon on third Down and you know there's very few People in the league that can match his Play style and it's Relentless it's Non-stop it's every play never takes a Down off and we are just very fortunate To have him Celebration dance with Kim who after After the set I did not see it so I Don't know who would you kind of put in His style you mentioned there are not Many or any any guys jump back I can't I Can't really think of anyone um Yeah I can't he's uh it's so unique on The ball off the ball there's probably Nobody in the league doing that right Now so Xavier Woods I'm curious when you guys Were plotting out this defense How did those fits functionally set up Within you are they set up the way you Initially envisioned I would say so Um we uh we came in with the mindset Like I've said before we weren't really Trying to come in and bring our system And force feed our system it was really

About seeing what our our better players Did well and putting them in position And do their best things very well at a High level and I feel like we've done That and I feel like they're bought into It and so it's came together pretty well If you were to use chin work Shack the Role was how would that impact The rest of the defense and shot was Good I mean since Chen was doing so many Different things overall Yeah there's always a trickle-down Effect and nothing has been set yet I Will say that but uh as you look through All of it uh where Shaq was you take him Out of the picture whoever you slot in There you know they're gonna have to is It one person doing that role is it two Peoples or three people to carry all Those different jobs that Shaq was doing And that's what we're working through Yeah Giving up a lot And that one or two plays that kind of Just break out on you yeah it's tough uh You know I thought the playlo lobby was A it was a heck of a catch the coverage Was really good CJ was right there and a Great throw a great catch and uh you Know that's going to happen that's part Of the NFL especially when you're Playing against good players and they Got a couple of them You know the other one was uh later in

The game we were playing more aggressive Because we needed to get the ball back We needed to stop the run uh we didn't Want we wanted to deny it a quick game And you know so uh Dante was a little Bit more aggressive on that deal and so But you know that's part of it you learn From you try to be better next time one Of the challenges with Seattle's pass Game specific just like last week you Know they got two big time receivers Quarterback that can make the throws a Quarterback through the playoff schedule Yeah it's going to be a challenge Okay specifically Well we got to do a different couple Different things we got a roll to Coverage we gotta um figure out some Creative deals to do we got to pressure The quarterback make sure that the Quarterback doesn't have a lot of time So we got to make things happen Uh for short regarded or any other play How how alarming can that be for a Defense and and how how how do you like Kind of teach You know just play the play sort of Situations yeah you really have two Options one you either you play with Play cover zero you take somebody out of The post and that's how you get your Numbers advantage and if you don't do That you got to steal a gap with someone Else you know someone's got to play two

Gaps and so it's tough you know and uh That's the unique deal that Tayson Hill Presents is because there's not anybody In the league that could do that that Can throw the ball the way he does and Run the ball and run not just run the Ball but run for power and uh you know They had some a couple of effective Deals against us and uh you know it's One of those deals we just have to Adjust and be ready for it next time Andy Dalton kind of having a short Yardage package for you guys what Advantage do you see in that as well You know to be honest with you I've seen Him sneak into some of those things but I'm not too in tune with it so Thank you all right thank you

While it may be one of the state’s largest cities, Charlotte retains a friendly calm that makes its residents feel like they live in a much smaller community. The city boasts a vibrant, photo-worthy skyline and offers a wide array of entertainment options ranging from heated sports battles to chart-topping entertainers. Its mild climate means that outdoor events are year-round, but even during the peak summer months Charlotte offers plenty of indoor fun.

Residents enjoy a variety of cultural options such as the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and Levine Center for the Arts. There are also a number of parks where picnickers can spread out a blanket and soak up the sun.

Those who love to run will find themselves well served by the city’s miles of greenways and trails, while those who want to get their fill of nature can head just an hour west to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The city’s parks also offer a variety of summertime activities including music and food festivals. For example, the South End Wine and Hops Festival takes place on April 1 and allows attendees to sample beer from more than 20 local breweries while enjoying live music.

The city is home to teams at every level of American sports, from the NFL’s Carolina Panthers and NBA’s Charlotte Hornets to the wildly popular NASCAR races. In addition to the professional teams, there are many high school teams that compete at the state level. The city has seen the rise of Butler, Garinger, and West Charlotte as football powerhouses while Mallard Creek and Independence dominate the state basketball scene with a combined total of seven championships.
