Thomas Brown: We’re getting everyone ready to play

Brown spoke about having the offensive line prepared to play in what he considers a “hostile” road environment against Seattle.

Welcome again I'm excited for a new Opportunity right so it's it's week Three um with a quality opponent getting An opportunity to travel out to Seattle And uh a team that I'm familiar with for Being out in La so it's a tough Environment their fans do a great job of Being allowed the entire time for the Most part throughout the game so one of The keys for success for us as a team But also offensively is going to be uh Handle the noise and so for us that Means kind of two regions right one Being on the field when it comes to our Communication our operation from a you Know for the most part nonverbal Standpoint in the noise what we can here But also the noise outside the building So it comes us being able to be focused Continue to stay on the same path be Committed to our process and our Approach and excited for a new Opportunity all right so one thing we Talk about as a team as Frank introduced To us back in you know OTAs was one of Our identity factors for us offensively But also overall team wide was being Warriors right so Warriors means a Number of different things here's what It doesn't mean it doesn't mean when Things get tough you going to run and Hide we're not going to do that not Going to make excuses um Warriors do a Really good job of banding together when

Things get tough and we're in an Environment where we kind of asked to be Leaders to be held accountable hold Ourselves accountable first uh but also Keep sharpen that AE and keep swinging So we'll continue to go back to work go Back to war and excited for a new Opportunity are you preparing right now As though Andy will be your Starter we're preparing for practice so I mean all our guys are obviously up and Ready to go I think we're obviously Taking it one day at a time when it Comes to all of our players from a Preparation standpoint so I I'll defer To Frank on any questions regarding Injuries but um he'll obviously be Taking a rep today in practice with with Bryce pin out so the whole Warrior Mindset um it seemed like Bryce being Injured after the game was kind of a Surprise we heard about Brady christens And playing through Injury is that something that that kind Of trickles down from the coaching staff As to kind of just rub some dirt in it I Guess um rubbing dirt as far as what do You just I mean like kind of play on Kind of see to see it to the end sort of Thing oh yeah yeah I would say it starts First with the character of the people That we have in our organization from Top to bottom when it comes to coaches But also the players that we bring in um

Having smart tough Dependable Individuals obviously goes along with Being a warrior uh but there was no Flinch by him at all there was no Mention of any injury throughout the Game which is shows his toughness Overall so that should never be in Question him or anybody else but I think Our guys definitely fought to the end it Was great to be able to see him compete As well you know when he got H I do not Sometime in the first half first half I Could pinpoint a play or you know when Is that when it actually happened Mention it at half time or never said a One word the whole game so did you Notice that at all in that 26y run no it Looked good to me so I mean he had a Little little Bob and weave lean and Stick off the foot made a nice little Cut so no there was no indication in my Mind were you surprised that it kind of Popped up afterward because he was able To finish yeah I think anytime you have A guy that completes the entire game and And uh doesn't complain or talk about an Injury you kind of make sometimes get Surprised by it but um I've never Questioned his toughness when it comes To mental toughness for sure but also Physical toughness also so we'll keep it Moving Thomas spring said yesterday that If Andy was playing instead of brce the Game plan might change a play or to

Something like that I think which is Praising what are those differences and What what should we expect if it's Handed well I would say the difference Will end up being just with him being an Experienced quarterback having a ton of Reps OB was playing his opponent before In the past I maybe giving him some more Insight onto what he likes to be called In the game when it comes to some of the Dropback pass game play action pass from That inventory standpoint but we'll keep The the core of our offense together and They continue to keep building be better With that and I obviously knew about Andy before coming coming him coming Here obviously but he is phenomenal to Be around every single day when it comes To his preparation process like a pro in Every aspect the way he communicates um To Bryce but also in the meeting room so Normally on Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays I'll start out by addressing the entire Offense we'll go into an instar that nor Takes anywhere from 45 to an hour and a Half uh so to hear him kind of Step him Communicate how he sees certain plays Coaching receivers up on from a detail Standpoint is great uh for all of us but Also just kind of shows the character of The individual also in some ways is it Is It how to say this but more beneficial That to play you're playing in Seattle

Very loud environment and's kind of been There he's you know played in these Things for years is it more beneficial To have a veteran in that uh situation Perhaps um I'll would say yes just from The understanding of the unknowns of Like you said being in an environment Before but I think just all of us Overall is about the focus on a small Detail and taking it just one play at a Time and I start today in practice even From a walkthrough standpoint which you Got done with our walk through it's About those details focus on the the Individual moments before we wor about The whole totality of a bigger picture Uh but definitely I think his leadership Among others Adam th being one of those Guys was always kind of vocal from a Leadership standpoint is huge for us Offensively it seemed from like week one To week two that that there was a little Bit more like Personnel switching up Week one and less in week two was that Kind of like a trial by Error like where you had to review Something or is it just an opponent Based yeah what you just mentioned last I think from an opponent based Standpoint so again the core of what we Do it's important that we put time on Tas with that from a week in week out Standpoint it's all about this league Boils down to matchups so trying to find

Ways to get guys in the best spot by Using personnels by using formation Variations by using motions as well so It's more dictated based on opponent Versus a trial and Eror Young quarterback is not out there On Thursday I know yesterday was a Walkthrough but not being there on a Thursday when you're doing a lot of Install yeah a lot of game plan how Significant for a Young quarterback is To miss that Time I think it's significant for Anybody I think when it comes to reps or Reps uh but he has again a great process A great approach he's always mainly Locked in he always is always asking Questions even from a background Standpoint and's taking reps so I think Is important for every player coaches Included to get reps I think we all need Reps you need reps to get better at our Job so that's all I didn't mean you Personally so don't take the offense to That I'm just saying off off allog Together so yeah you know but I think When it comes to overall process when it Comes to reps we all benefit from that So there's no substitute when it comes To those reps no it was you about to Take it personal not personal question You was General let me ask a question a Different way would a rookie would you

Feel comfortable putting a rookie out There in Sunday if he does not practice All week I would yeah my question that Rookie might make a j General St when it Comes to all rookies but that rookie I Would Okay explosive plays uh Coach Wright Said he felt like you're on the cusp of Maybe finding that Rhythm um I'm Assuming that you feel the same way but What do you feel is led to the lack of a Downfield connection between Bryce and His receivers I think there's a couple Things one is just time on task when it Comes to getting more live reps more Opportunities from a practice standpoint To connect with different players as you Mentioned before when it comes to even Personnel driven stuff uh who you play Opponent wise can dictate you know who Can get activated in different ways uh But it all Bs down to execution overall So um you we don't do make any excuses The point is we got to do a better job Of executing and also continue to find Ways to get the right guys in the right Spot to get the ball to on top of that What the limits explosives is not being Efficient offensively so we talk about What we call gbot situations gbot stands For get back on track so uh being Efficient is obviously first and 10 We're talking about second and one and Six when you get into the second and

Seven plus 8 n and 10 it makes a lot Hard to kind of generate um explosive Plays so it starts first with staying on Schedule uh from down in down out so That means efficient plays whether be Runs or pass they create more explosiv Down the field a guy like Bryce who has Seen its success on every level how do You pour into him as a coach so that he Doesn't kind of get discouraged if he Doesn't have the immediate success that Maybe people expected from him I think It's about providing balance for him um So he is his hardest critic which is What all great players should acquire to Be is being your hardest critic uh but Also it's about perception versus Reality and often times in our Profession probably most people's Profession perception becomes reality Even when it's not uh so that's what I Kind of mentioned before when it comes To out ignoring the outside noise uh We're all kind of built and equipped to Handle that but it's about being able to Focus on the consistent process and make Those daily improvements to get better If uh um Bryce ends up not playing do You think this could ultimately benefit Him it's a short week you already talked About the difficulty of playing out There is a guy who never really Experienced uh anything but success Could this benefit him in the long run

That's hard for me to answer that um Because I tried to go into Hypotheticals um so whether he whether That scenario comes up or not I can't Talk to whether or not it will benefit Him or or not benefit him I'm just focus On us continue to make improvements and Uh Thursday's practice which is a big Third down day you guys have talked About though that if if no we had no Discussion about what it's going to be Better for him or not no we have not Talked about that I'm sorry in regards To the noise in Seattle you have Experienced there you kind of touched on At the front end what worked in the past What doesn't work in the past how do you Prepare these guys to handle that Because that place is always off the Chart F Well one is come to play I mean They're a tough group um Pete car do a Great job begin those guys ready to roll They are simplistic at times when it Come to what they do defensively which Is a benefit for them as far as the Communication goes of getting lined up Of playing with Tempo and knowing what Everybody aligns when it comes to their Whether it be Gap Integrity fit wise or Covers responsibilities on the secondary So it starts with that first I think us Doing a really good job of as I Mentioned this last week of the TNT we Talked about the stuff that takes no

Talent we have to major in that so Alignment assignment technique I think Our finish was never in question but Those other details need to be better When it comes to that More speed of the game Bryce always says The speed of the game has not really Impacted him but do you think that maybe He impacted more than than he's willing To admit I don't think so um again I Think he's a very genuine honest person At least I think you guys can attest it That for your time around him but what I Will say just from experience of where He's been who he's played against and uh You know going from being in that League The SEC I'm talking about uh it is not The National Football League so I'm not Making any comparisons at all so don't Confuse what I'm saying but I think just On you just see better players or faster Players on average you don't get here And just see somebody you've never seen Before who just moves way better and It's some giant or some great DB you've Never faced before they're just better Across the board on average so I would Agree what he said as far as the speed Of the game not really affecting him Thomas with we the way we saw Andy play Last week um probably going to see him At some point whether BRS plays or not I'm just curious from your standpoint How does the short yardage quarterback

Role with Andy kind of fit what he Does I think one he's been really good In the past when it comes to short Yardage so we talk about trying to find Matches and put guys in the right spot It's kind of one situation that kind of Comes up when it come to him but also From a defensive standpoint instead of You know not saying that we'll never Explore like Wildcat at times it forces The defense to have to play Just true Ru's ball because he can throw the Football really well obviously playing a True dropback quarterback so it kind of Does a really good job of Mar those two Things his success in the past but also How we operate overall offensively on Short yardage thas their their defense So far has not been very good um 29th And points allowed 30th and passing 32nd And third down conversions I mean is This a chance for you guys to kind of Get right offensively well I think every Week is a new week and uh this is the National Football League where the best Of the best play football um and Regardless of what the records are and What stats say uh you better show your Ass up every week to go play cuz I don't Care what you play an opponent what they Had on record before what they showed on Tape they're going to come to win so It's their place we're we're traveling Across the country to go play them so

Our Focus going to be on uh making sure We take care of ourselves from a team Standpoint so we can go show up and play The best we can when it come when it Comes to receivers getting open is it More about the route running or the Scheme of the play I'm I'm just curious Because seems like there might be times Where Bry has a hard time finding an Open guy I would say it's both uh and For to kind of uh add on to that being In the National Football League the Windows are really small I mean every Now and you have some Free Runners Somebody bust the coverage but if guys Are playing with great technique Especially from a DB standpoint if They're playing whether it be press man Or they're in a zoning look a three deep Zone look but pressing on the outside There's not going to be much separation So it's more about the timing Anticipation the operation overall for For us offensively to kind of get better When it comes to guys being open but um You know that's what comes to the Territory about playing receiver NFL What have you seen from the Seattle DVS When it comes to um just what you were Mentioning as far as physicality and Getting bumped off the route and those Small Windows of opportunity yeah a Little bit different than the first two Opponents we play as far as how they

Play on the outside technique wise um But they're kind of playing on top Playing visual towards the quarterback Versus Atlanta and New Orleans was kind Of more in a press mode the entire time Staying in the back half of receiver From a phasing standpoint these guys um Take more chances when it comes to Playing visual towards the quarterback So so got to do a really good job when It comes to our timing our spacing our Separation but also the route details so The ball comes out on time so there'll Be a tough outfit a really good job from A safety standpoint you know quandre has Been one of the best that I've played Against when it comes to being Instinctive communicating playing across The field and obviously if Jamal does Play as well he has his own own issues He brings to the table when it comes to How he's activated for them defensively Are you guys getting Jake new ready to Play we're getting everybody ready to Play um incl Yeah so everybody in our roster gets Reps whether it be look Squad reps Whether it be actually with the offense Or defense so all in the same meetings All getting coach the same way and uh You're obviously One play away across The board with everybody so you're Expected to be ready to Go
