Dalton answered questions on the team’s performance on Sunday.
I think at the end of the day we hurt Ourselves there's too many penalties Too many little things that set us back And made a lot harder for us to have the Success that we wanted to Um there are some things that we're Going to go back and look at and say That we we did things really well There's some a lot of explosive plays Out there but we we can't continue to Hurt ourselves because that we're not Giving ourselves a chance Yeah I mean the the noise and just the Operation and everything you can't have That many false starts and and expect to Have A success and we like I said we hurt Ourselves we've got to find a way to fix It and it's uh it's up to everybody on The offense to get this thing done The idea of career high passing today What on the field transpired do you Think to kind of cause that and did you Like are you surprised by hearing me say That you kind of know Well I mean I knew I threw the ball a Lot I didn't know it was Um High someone told me in the in the Locker room but it's hard to play when You're one-dimensional and I feel like That's what uh what what we did today You know we really couldn't get the Run Game going and Um you know I think part of the stuff
Too is some of these penalties and Different things that set you back and I Mean now you feel like you have to throw The ball and so Um you know there's some things that I'm Going to look back and things that I Wish I I could have done a little bit Better in the past game But you know like I said when you when You're one-dimensional and and Um it makes it tough Yeah I mean I think at the end of the day you put Your head down you look and see what Um you can do to to get it fixed you Gotta look in the mirror see how you Played and be honest with yourself and This is a long season you know there's a Lot of really good teams that have lost Three in a row ours just happens to be These first three and I mean for us is The whole goal is to is to get things Fixed get things right and Um to play our best football we have not Played our best football yet I wouldn't have thought I was I would go 58 but I just think as the as the game Went on and just kind of how things went I mean especially when you get into the Into the game and obviously you're gonna Be throwing the ball almost every down Um trying to call your way back in in it And so
Um I mean I think that That kind of inflates the number there Too but Um we we have to find a way to be Balanced we've got to find a way to run The ball better than than we did and we Didn't run it good enough today [Music] Quarterback has to be able to change Rightfully changing play Can you sort of describe that process And maybe maybe a little bit of what Went wrong there in European yeah I mean It's again when you have to use the Silent Cadence there's an operation to It and Um You know even when mixing up snap counts And different things we have to make Sure that we're locked into exactly what We're doing and so Um I think as a whole we'll take a look At it and and I mean we'll definitely Get that fixed because we can't have That you can't have that happen again The way it did Well I mean we battle to the end I think That's one thing that that we've shown Even last week when uh score touchdown When kicked on side kick and Um you know weren't able to get it but Yeah I mean we we we keep fighting where There's there's no quit in this team and You know that's one thing that you can't
Coach it's uh it's the mentality of just This group so Um we got to find a way to get it fixed Though we I mean we're There's too many good players too many Good coaches too many good people as Part of this organization to to not get Fixed Yeah and it's tough I mean you again you Keep setting yourself back and Um To make it hard to keep drives going and Hard to you know convert you get Yourself in longer situations and third And long stuff so I mean it's Like I said we we have to find a way to Get it fixed Anything else thanks Andy all right Thank you
