Why Move to Charlotte North Carolina?
About Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News
There’s a reason that young singles, couples and families are moving to Charlotte North Carolina at a rapid rate. The city is home to a vibrant downtown, beautiful neighborhoods and a wide range of family friendly activities. The area is also a great place for students as it is home to UNC Charlotte, Johnson & Wales University and Queens University.
One of the most attractive things about Charlotte is that it is relatively affordable compared to other large cities across the country. MIT’s Living Expenses Calculator found that a single person requires an annual income of about $36,000 before taxes in Charlotte and a couple with two children needs an income of about $106,000.
The economy in Charlotte is growing rapidly and it is ranked as the 24th best city for jobs by Glassdoor. Several Fortune 500 companies are headquartered in the region including Bank of America, Lowe’s and Duke Energy.
Another big draw to Charlotte is the incredible access to outdoor activities. The city has 35 miles of greenways and is within a short driving distance to both the mountains and the beach.
Those who love to enjoy drinks with friends are going to find that the city is fully committed to the craft beer scene. There are seemingly hundreds of breweries in the area as well as wineries that offer unique experiences. From rooftop bars with skyline views to quaint taprooms, there is something for everyone here.
