Living in Charlotte North Carolina is exciting for many reasons: the beautiful city boasts a temperate climate that still goes through four seasons (though summer can be hot and muggy), a booming job market, and plenty of fun activities to do with both kids and couples. It’s also in a prime location where gorgeous beaches are less than four hours away on the east coast, and the Blue Ridge mountains are about two hours away on the west side of town. Plus, pro-sports (including football, basketball, and hockey) are king here and NASCAR is a big draw for those who like to go fast.
Despite being a major business hub, the city has a low cost of living when compared to other East Coast cities and offers a competitive salary. However, housing prices are on the rise as more people are attracted to the area and jobs are in high demand.
Aside from the thriving economy, the area’s top-ranked colleges and universities (including Duke University) help keep the local workforce strong and diverse. These factors make Charlotte one of the most diverse cities in the country.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, the area has plenty of parks and greenways for hiking and biking. There are also plenty of fun things to do indoors as well. Catch a concert at a music venue or sample different cuisines in a converted textile mill. You can even test your nerves at a paint and sip party or play some friendly competition with friends at a bowling, ping pong, foosball, or pinball joint.
