Moving to Charlotte North Carolina?
Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News
Charlotte’s beautiful, temperate climate that still goes through all four seasons attracts young professionals and families at a fast rate. Its strong job market, downtown area full of fun things to do and the fact that it’s within a short driving distance from both the beach and the mountains make it an attractive place to live. It also has a burgeoning culinary scene, with restaurants from around the world popping up.
There are a number of popular universities in the region, including UNC Charlotte, Johnson & Wales University, Queens University and Davidson College. This combined with a number of high-profile businesses that are based in the city (including Bank of America, Lowe’s and Duke Energy) makes it an especially appealing place to live for students and young adults just starting out in their careers.
One thing to keep in mind when thinking about moving to Charlotte is that the state’s income tax is a flat rate and can be quite high, depending on how much you earn. This can take a significant bite out of your paycheck.
As for the weather, it’s a bit humid here throughout the year, but summer doesn’t get too hot and February isn’t as bad as you might expect. If you’re a fan of outdoor activities, you’ll love it, as the city has 35 miles of greenways for hiking, biking, and jogging.
