As North Carolina’s largest city, Charlotte offers a diverse array of activities and attractions. The city’s modern, skyline-dominated central district is home to the Levine Museum of the New South, which explores post–Civil War Southern history, and Discovery Place, which offers hands-on science for kids. Charlotte is also known for its sports, with the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League and the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA based in town, as well as a long-standing tradition of NASCAR events.
Music fans are in luck, as Charlotte is home to a variety of venues that host touring acts. The city also overflows with breweries and wine bars, as well as restaurants serving up all manner of cuisines from around the world.
Spring and fall are the best times to visit Charlotte, when the average daytime temperature is in the 70s and 80s, and the humidity is lower. This makes it easier to enjoy the many outdoor attractions and activities Charlotte has to offer.
When it comes to employment opportunities, Charlotte is one of the top places in the country for businesses to relocate. It is a financial hub with a booming banking sector, and it is the headquarters of multiple Fortune 500 companies. Other top industries include health care, manufacturing, energy, and education.
As far as public education goes, Charlotte has some of the best schools in the nation. Niche, an online tool that ranks schools, gives the city a B+ rating in its rankings. In addition to top-notch schools, the city is also home to multiple highly rated hospitals and medical centers.
