“They’ve done it the right way,” Watts said. “This is the standard. This is the expectation. This is what we do, and everybody just feeds off of that”
Hey Bert um this is Mike K from Charlotte Observer and this is Ryan said Um Jamie Robinson obviously is a skill Set to play Maple Corner safety I'm Wondering uh how much have you guys Explored his versatility so far in the Workouts yeah I mean you know Jamie's a Guy that really Um has come in and impressed us right From the beginning just with his you Know knowledge work ethic I mean being Able to learn and pick up the defense Quickly so you know whenever you have a Young guy like that that has the ability To Um you know it's a lot of information to Retain in a short amount of time and and He's shown the ability to do that so you Know we're still working through it as We get to do the workouts I mean this is Early in the process so you know trying To identify where our Personnel best Fits but um you know he's he's shown That uh he can really play multiple Positions Environment what do you what have you Seen from his personality so far yeah He's playing to win I mean that's what You see I mean he's a guy that that he Doesn't uh he's not too worried about You know Um What As far as you know if he says something
It's gonna bother somebody I mean he's More concerned about how helping this Team and and getting himself better Every single day so you know I'm excited About a personality like that because There's no BS you just hey let's go to Work let's get better and he's all about That Over to you Jeff Greetings coach can you hear me I can I Got you Jeff Hey thanks a lot I'll just this is Joe Hawkins from Charlotte pulse I'll just Checking on new rooms adjustment to a Degree four and what exactly Um you're focusing on and I've been Hearing a lot about our students Versatility how you plan to use them This year Yeah I mean it's you know adjustment to The front wise is it doesn't you know Affect the secondary you know quite so Much so we're you know you're going to End up with a lot of similar coverages As you would really just depends on you Know who you're bringing in that scheme Um but uh you know chin is is an awesome Dude obviously you know incredibly hard Worker and and brings uh you know the uh Intelligence and Um ability you know the guy's got Amazing abilities they can do a lot of Different things so whenever you have a Guy like him uh you're excited because
Um he's a pro he knows how to do it he's Been there and done it before so any Scheme you're ready to activate that Guys many times as you can All right edited Head coach davidnewtonespn.com I want to Follow up on channel a little bit Um Exactly I mean he seems like he's going To have a lot of roles on this team this Year um Uh last His first year it seemed like it wasn't Quite defined he played a lot more Romantic where do you actually see him At that stack right now Yeah I mean we're still working through All that you know I know as a defense You're trying to identify you know who Your your best guys are in your best Spots as you get through this this time Of year Um you know so I I'm I know uh you know EJ's working through a lot of that stuff Just trying to identify how he wants to To make that work and you know I'm just Going to defer to him on that Is that a one thing or a person Uh it's it's never a curse you know it's Always it in my opinion it's because you Know how this thing goes especially at The safety position you know you get Through a year with everybody healthy And all that it's it's you know it's a
It's a a physical position it's it's a Position that takes a lot of Um you know experience to play and uh Anytime you can have depth of that Position you're feeling awesome Yourself In 19 Mike From for a proven player standpoint it Feels like you guys at the safety Position have one of the better depth Groups on the team Eric coming in and Bob coming in and Obviously is Andrew Woods here what's The leadership in like In that backfield and how is it kind of Transitioned over maybe to other groups During workouts yeah I mean you the Thing I love about the guys we have Right now is you know they're they're Pros that have been there they've done It they understand uh how this thing Works and they've done it the right way And so when you have that type of Experience come in sometimes you know You don't have you know everybody in the Room that's like that but when you have Multiple guys that are like that there's No room for anything else it's just hey This is the standard this is the Expectation this is what we do and Everybody just fits off of that
