Frank talked about simplifying things on Offense and the game plan I mean how do You feel like that is Working for you yeah I think just you Know as a as a you know as a unit just Want to hone in on the details um and You know there's been a point of Emphasis for sure on just execution um So you know obviously that that's the You know we we've done a couple of Things like that and that's the approach That um you know kri and the rest of the The staff feels like has been best and Again I think for us it's just Opportunity to hone in on details and to Focus in on execution so um that's what The strain is for us what do you say to People that say they took too much on You too early and that's might slow down Your the ability to play Fast yeah um You know that's that's not how I how I See it um again I trust I trust coach Reich I trust the staff uh they do a Great job of of preparing me of us Working through things and um you know Us being able to you know being able to Help my development and allow me to grow Um so I I've had full full confidence in That I feel like um everything is as you Know as far as far as that I I felt Great about everything and again it's Just you know again I trust the coaches With that decision and for us you know It just tells us to to hone in on the
Details make sure we're focusing on on Execution so um you know I I'm I'm I'm Grateful for how everything's played out I feel like everything's been good and Then you know again I trust the coaches And and what how they're taking us you Used the word development what do you Know now that you didn't know five weeks Ago about the way NFL offense works uh You know just you know trying to hone in And be efficient in the operation um you Know some stuff that you know it's it's Still the same football but obviously Just just learning more and being more Comfortable um you know playing at this Level and um you know again different Operational things um you know the the Little intricacies that come with it um So just uh developing in that um you Know feel like I've grown and Contin Need to continue to grow and keep Getting better um so you know I think Those are those so many things how Different is the operation in terms of Taking a play call from your year to the Huddle and putting it on the field yeah I mean in college yeah um you know and College and before you know it signals Um for the most part and then now it's This and I think that's a transition That everyone you know I wouldn't say Everyone but most people make I'd say um You know can't speak for everyone but I Think that's kind of the status quo for
College and then obviously it changes Here at at the at the pro level so Everyone has to make that adustment Everyone you know we we all go through That and you know again I I'm I've I'm Continuing to grow I feel like I've Grown and gotten better and need to Continue to grow get better um but you Know it's a change and I I I feel a lot More comfortable now and that's thanks To you know the coaching the coaches and The coaching staff and and the people Around me you know just just helping me To grow that how much has that Comfort Level increased when you guys went to The Wristband and was that kind of Similar to what you used in college um Still you know it's still a different Operation again uh Still Still different But I you know just having time to uh You know we worked through that when we Changed and work through the week and And and changing that and again I trust The trust the coaches with the operation They feel is best um so you know we went There we went you know we we've done Wristband stuff so um you know whichever Way for me it's just how efficient we Can be I'm an executing and you know I Trust the coaches in whatever way it's Been like that how collaborative are They is that something where you go to The coaches and say hey this should be Easier on me or do the coaches approach
You and say hey let's try this yeah well You know I always follow the coach's Lead on you know the operational stuff And you know how they how they want Things to look and um you know the snap Stuff I I I follow their lead so um you Know I trust them um and it was Something that you know as a as a team As a collective as a as a group as a Unit that we just all decided to to move Towards BR what's been the biggest Challenge to getting explosive plays for This offense um you know I think it just Just boils down to execution um you know First and foremost for myself of making Sure that when they're up and they're There that I I hit them and that you Know getting getting into those finding Th those explosive playes and just us as A unit you know um just honing in on Details and executing um you know again I think there's there's been Opportunities and you know I have to do A better job making sure we take Advantage of them um but um you know I Think again it just boils down to Execution how much how much uh is what Tua did at Alabama how did that impact Your career path um yeah I think you Know just as far as my my college career Definitely was um definitely was really Big it was a big reason why I went to Alabama um you know it was a big Transition from when he was there um
Just what the offense looked like and What they kind of what what Alabama move To offensively um and you know since It's kind of it's It's flourished since Then and I was a recruit when all that Was happening so that was a really Really big reason um for me being there And you know I know Tua um know Tua know Tu I talked to him you know throughout The years a good amount of times and Just really good really good guy um Really good person really cool and then I I've watched a ton of film of him from Bama um on have a tremendous amount of Respect for um him him as a person and Definitely him as a player um so you Know you know it's definitely a great Opportunity um for to be able to you Know go against go against him this Weekend how much input do you actually Have with what goes on Theb yeah um again it's it's it's a it's A collaboration with stuff like that um You know again a great thing about this This team this coaching staff is you Know there there's not there's not a lot Of ego everyone just wants to you know We all want the same thing and you know We're all trying to work towards the Same thing so um you know we collaborate On things like that we talk about um you Know we all just want to be as efficient As possible so um I'm grateful that you Know we've been able to have
Conversations able to talk about things Um so there's definitely been been Collaboration about it those lines Frank Has said that each week he talks to you And kind of what plays you like and he's Kind of figuring that out what plays do You like J uh the ones I feel like have The best chance of of of you know being Successful and being executed um it's It's not a week to week this is in my Play and like this is my thing um I just I I love I want this play it's you know It goes into our game plan it goes into What we're trying to attack it goes to The defense and what specific areas you Know we want to attack there um you know It's not the same stuff every week it's Not this C the same category it's not um One specific route it it it it it really Changes and varies completely from week To week so it's all dependent on you Know um what we're trying to do right Says he feels like this team is getting Better better when you self assess do You feel like you've been getting better Week to week um I feel like there there There has been growth um you know I Think it's you know we've talked about It of just having that balance of um Obviously being having urgency and you Know again we we understand where we're At and it's not where we want to be and You know it's not acceptable where we Are and knowing that things have to
Change and there there's a lot of growth Um to be done and having that mindset Because obviously we haven't been Getting the results that we want um but Also trying to find um you know stay you Know trying to stay positive and find The things that we we can build off of And you know not just you know glance Past those um because obviously we've Been getting out just we haven't been Getting the outcome that we want um so I Think that there's there's things that I've grown in and uh developed in and Feel more comfortable about um and then Obviously a lot of stuff that I still Need to get better at and improve in so You know just throughout having Experience um you know having more Experience obviously than I did you know Before at the beginning of the year I do Feel um better I feel like I've you know I've grown in certain areas but you know I'm far from where I want to be um so You know I think it's it's it's a mixed Back bound on what those areas of growth Are you said you think that there's some Areas where you feel like you've seen Growth yeah I feel like just you know Comfortability within the offense within The um operation within and again There's still a lot of growth that I Need to have done in that so I'm you Know by by no stretch of the means a Finished product um but I I do feel like
There's a lot of um I feel like there's A lot of things for me to that that I Have improved on as far as just the Operation having a better feel for um Better feel for for what we're doing and It just came has come with reps um you Know being able to have have live reps And game reps which you know we try to Emulate as much as we can but you know At the end of the day you know a Sunday Night NFL game isn't something that you Know you can or whatever time but NFL Game isn't something that you can Emulate um so just having reps I think And having that experience has helped And again um there's still a lot more That I want to keep getting better at And keep improving at but um having that Experience has definitely been Invaluable I have to keep building on it BR we've heard about how competitive you Are has it been challenging for you to See the good when you're not getting the Results um yeah of course um and I don't Think that's just me you know we're it's For everyone you know we we we Understand the business side of the Sport we understand it's a result Oriented game um and you know we're all Competitive so you know knowing you know Knowing that there's stuff that you know There's stuff that I want back and stuff That I wish I would have done better um That's not just me who feels like that
In the locker room we all look in the Mirror and and it's all it's frustrating For all of us um you know again knowing That there's stuff that we could do Better we can we could be ex better we Can be from an individual standpoint From a unit from a team um it definitely Is frustrating um but again it it's Stuff that you know you can't change What's happened in the past um you know We can dwell on and try to uh lick our Wounds and feel bad for ourselves and That's going to get us just further from Where we want to be um so yeah you know It's no one's happy um you know it is Frustrating but at the end of the day There's you know there's we have a Tremendous amount of belief in ourselves I I believe in all the guys in the Locker room and the coaching I'm super Happy to be here and um you know you can Deal with it for you know however long After the game um and you know you you Feel it but you know we've moved on now You have to move on and try to be Constructive and you know there it Doesn't you know it doesn't turn into Doubt it doesn't turn into confusion um You know we we know we're what we're Capable of and we have to earn the right To be able to prove that and to show it Um but you know all our focus goes on Doing that throughout the Week when Frank says you've simplified
Things Is it more than just limiting The Playbook what what other things that you Know has and has that really helped you U um from from my stamp uh you know I Think it's you know really it hasn't Been you know we we've just we've just Hone honed in on kind of what you know The the specifics of of what we're doing And I think again it's given us a great Opportunity to to take advantage of the Details and it hasn't changed my Approach of how I prepare how I look at Things Um again it's just a good reminder for Us and gives us the ability to just take More points of empasis and and have more Detail um so it hasn't hasn't hasn't Changed anything towards my Approach Have you called the tuth since this year Since he's been in the league and what's The best advice he's given you yeah for Sure a couple of times including this Offseason and um you know he's uh he you Know we we've had some conversations Again a great great person um great dude And um you know it's it's it's great to See him you know being able to have have The success he's had and he's been able To say um you know just just being Consistent and and working hard and um You know just just trying to continue to Build and keep growing um you know and Again it's it's been really great just
For me again he was a big reason of why I ended up going to Alabama and be able To see that translate and see him him Flourish at this level is um you know It's been it's been great to watch uh For me over the years um and you know he He shared some of that stuff and Echo Some sentiment so um I'm I'm super Grateful for that you guys trained Together uh we haven't trained together Haven't trained together before um but Just non football stuff been able to Have conversations and again a great Dude explosive plays you said there have Been some opportunities is that Cas Where you're saying there was a guy that You just didn't hit or was it more like Play calling not calling play changes That you didn't um I think a mixture of Of of things that I could you know that I can I should have um whether it's Getting us into things that I should be Or missing throws missing opportunities Missing reads again that's all on me um That's my fault for for for you know There stuff that again I I wish I could Have back and wish I could have executed At a higher level and that's stuff that I have to continue to grow in um and you Know it it sucks in the moment it sucks For it but you have to turn the page and Move so um you know that that that's all On me um and again I have to continue to To to get better at that um and you know
That's going to be working on fans for Alex Bryce what um as you reflect on Your game Detroit what was working in The second half that wasn't working in The first um I think for is is just Execution um when we start you know when We start executing and you know we're Able to um and we're able to just build Upon it um you know I think that you Know we you know we we did a good job of Doing that at times and you know from an Offense um you know we didn't really Give ourselves a chance um we kind of Took ourselves out of it early and again That that that's on me um you know I'm a Big reason for that so um you know I Think you know in that you know at that Time we were just able to to execute and And not shoot ourselves in the foot and Not and um you know we're able to do Some good things and again we didn't Give ourselves a chance um to when we Took that away early we put our defense In some really bad situations and again That that lies on me so um we can't do That and regardless of how well how many Good plays we had or how well we Executed at times you know we did too Much and it's not going to matter you Know you turn the ball ball over three Times against a really good team and They don't you know it's you're not you Can't expect to win any of those games So um you know I think it was just you
Know I think that's that's you I don't Think it felt like it was anything that Was surreal is just you know we have to Be able to do that more consistently and String that together and and not do the Things that take away from that and that Starts with me so um you know that's What we're going to be working towards Thank appreciate you guys thank you
