Young spoke about the offense learning and growing from matchups in Saturday’s practice.
Probably seems like there's a lot of Free snap penalties today Sorry uh the last part again any time in Your shoes and everything a little bit It seemed like that flashed a couple of Times just your overall evaluation of The offense yeah um you know a lot of Stuff to clean up on tape you know Defense definitely won the day-to-day Um and you know there's a lot of things That you know I got to do better Um you know and you know just us as you Know we have to do better I have to do Better individually all of us you know We take we take responsibility take Accountability for that stuff so Obviously a lot of stuff on tape today That you know we got to go back and Correct Um but you know we we have to put in Perspective um you know there's always Going to be negatives always be Positives in Camp you know it's back and Forth we're going up against a great Defense every single day and again they Definitely won the day today so um you Know we have to go in and learn from it Um and you know again we haven't had a Chance to cut on the film yet and um you Know see all the takeaways that we're Gonna get so um we're looking forward to Doing that you know It's gotta be better Tomorrow ASU seemed a little frustrated With yourself or something at the end of
The two-minute segment over there what Happened in that little in the last six Seconds there that kind of had you Bothered yeah just you know you want to Win the drill you know just to just just You want to compete and win the jail and Again obviously defense won that drill As well defense won the day so Um you know it you know as a competitor You know we all get like that we all get Get frustrated but um you know again It's uh we have to do a better job of Bringing stuff back in really step back In making sure that even if if it's not Our day Um for one period or one play that we're Able to to flip the script in you know Again we didn't do a good enough job of That today but that's what training camp Is for um so you know it's just us Competing us getting after it and again We're gonna watch the tape and Learn and Grow from it Prince said you're kind of Hard on yourself in situations like that How do you redirect and kind of move From being upset about something to onto The next thing yeah um you know it's It's you know you just gotta you gotta Gotta you know got to embrace it and Funnel it again there's always going to Be emotions when it comes to playing the Sport but then you know once it's done You know there's a time for that and Then there's a time for
Um you know there's only there's only Two options at a certain point of are You gonna let it dwell and you know are You gonna let it affect you the next Play or you're gonna move on and you Know and and get better and you know the Only thing you can do is focus on the Next rep so you know when that next rep Comes and you know it's pretty quick you Know you gotta whatever it is you deal With it and then you learn from that Play Taking what happened that snap and Then you got to go to the next so um It's just you're constantly turning the Page and turning the page and Um you know we're we're all still trying To improve in that myself included guy Who's been Elite at every level is it Difficult to handle tough days or to Have when the defense has maybe the Better day is that is that a challenge For you uh no I mean at no level has There not been days where there's been Back and forth up and down there there's Not been bad days that I don't know any You know I don't know any any level any Sport where anyone would really say that You know it's there's always bad days It's always um you know there's always Good and bad days and um again it's just It's the beauty of sports it's a Competitive nature and all of us that we Want to win every day we want to be Perfect I you know I go out and I want
To hit every throw I want to make every Protection call I want to make every Reading you know it's not going to Happen but you still strive for that and Again that's that's what we all play for We love the you know we love that Challenge um again it's the competitive Nature in all of us that show so you Know it's nothing new having tough days You know there's been obviously there's Countless years of experience and Players and coaches and you know they'll I guarantee you they'll all tell you the Same thing of no matter how good a year Someone had how good a team someone had There were bad days they're good and bad Days so again um you know it's you know We got to improve we got to come out and Be better tomorrow but that's what Tomorrow's for so um you know now it's Time to turn the page um we go up and Meet uh talk about it figure out how we Can be bare tomorrow and then when Tomorrow comes around it'll be time to Execute And What did he look at you look up at him Growing up or talk about it yeah I'm you Know very excited of course I'm just Getting a uh you know we've been Competing against each other for for so Long getting a new group in and being Able to compete against other people is You know it's going to be great it's
Going to be um you know I'm super Excited for that um you know my my first Time competing against you know another Team again it's exciting and um you know I you know obviously we have a lot of Respect for them in the organization and It's a great group um that they're Coming in and bringing with so it's Going to be very competitive and Um you know for me and with with Aaron Rodgers um you know it's I'm excited for That as well I'm someone that I've you Know I've I've watched and study looked Up to a lot you know throughout my Throughout my life he's always been a Lead and someone that I have a ton of Respect for in this game and uh yeah I Don't think we've never met face to face But I know a lot of mutual people and Have had encounters so I mean he's been Always really really really nice in all Those encounters and I really have Appreciated that so Um you know I'm just looking forward to Competing I'm going and going up against A really good group a really good team Um with our guys and you know we're Gonna push each other trying to make Each other better so I'm excited for That Spreading the ball around The different receivers throughout all Camp is that functioning Frank and his offensive function of
Views what is that yeah um you know I Think that just goes to our philosophy And the coaching staff of you know there There there's a lot of Multiplicity a Lot of people moving around a lot of Moving parts and you know we just try to Take advantage of what the defense gives Us and go through our reads and Progressions and um you know take the Open guy and you know because of that it I think it reflects in um again the Scheme and and also it reflects on the Guys we have you know we have a Abundance of guys who can make plays who Can get open on a consistent basis and You know that that's that's a luxury so Um you know for me I'm just listening to Coaches I'm trying to go through my Progressions make the right throws make The right decisions and you know it's a Great great scheme when you get multiple Guys involved um so I'm super excited About that Uh no I think we we all have that Mindset of and it's great being a part Of it we all have that mindset of we Want as a unit we want to score as a Team we want to win um that that's our Goal and we don't care how that happens We don't care what it looks like um we Don't care who may you know the media or The outside May view as the spotlight Player who has these stature accolades For us you know a wins a win for us on
Offenses unit we want to score you know A touchdowns a touchdown field goals Field goal that that's what our goals Our goal is to to win so um you know Whatever way that that happens whatever Has to happen for that to make sense It's a win for all of us so Yeah it's super important and you know We have a great tight end group a deep Group of guys who are really versatile And you know it's great to have a guys That are that are as passionate as as we Have in the tight end group guys that You know aren't aren't aren't you know Aren't aren't dragging or aren't you Know after practice like I just want to Get out as hot out guys that want to Talk through things the moment something When it works you know all the times are The first people coming back hey good Throw good throw this is a good route Let's keep doing this if it doesn't work Come back hey what could I have done Better with you done better what could We have done better you know it's just That constant communication Um and you know it's really that Willingness to want to be elite wanna um You know want to develop that chemistry And connection and you know we we you Know obviously we have to keep going and Keep getting better but um you know it's It's definitely important in this Offense and I'm grateful to have the
Titan group that I have around Foreign Yeah um you know I think I think of Course there's differences in Styles you Know obviously co-strike and Coach Saban Have different styles of coaching and I Think that that reflects but I think It's a lot of the same principles um It's the same it's the same you know Same points of emphasis um you know the Same level you know it's it's it's the Same that same level where I feel like I'm learning every day I feel like I'm Getting challenged and pushed and you Know it's different people different Personalities and it comes in a Different package but you know I think It's still that underlying message us Pushing ourselves would be the best Every day us trying to be uncomfortable And work through that and grow through That and um you know us learning day in And day out on the field in the meeting Room and you know when you have a coach Of Staff like we do here that does that And checks all those boxes you know it's It's really beneficial for me Personally you've talked about him Before about how much does Jim Caldwell's presence help you in the Transition His history and just all about it yeah Um you know having coach Caldwell around Is huge um you know just all the
Experience all the knowledge just the You know you know he's he's a legend it Has so much you know so much perspective So much around the game he's been around And seeing so much and him just walking Around being able to float and give Input in and you know he's he's you know He's given his time to come in and speak To us and and make sure that you know We're good him chiming in all the things And you know really for me especially Being a young guy I just try to be a Sponge and he has so much knowledge and Wisdom that has accumulated through the Years and you know he's always dropping Little nuggets here and there so I do Everything I can to you know try to try To pick his brain listen to that and Also just it's a great person to just Just cool to be around great to have Around in the locker room and in media Room so um it's it's great to have him Around Town I know you've talked about him before But Yeah um you know 100 haven't coached me Count around Um you know someone who has so many Years so much experience in different Systems and Um had played in so many different Different different places and has not Just been able to talk about what's
Going on and illustrate and talk about The X's nose but has lived it and has Been out there and experienced it and Knows firsthand what it's like to be Taking that drop in you know what to be Looking for so again I try to pick his Brain as much as I can he's been it Every time we're going through install He's always oh yeah I remember we did This you know back in you know in 20 in 2010 I dropped against this team it was Third down we did this and you know He'll pull up Cliffs and you know hey This is how one way could happen and you Know when you there's one thing when you You know you're able to see it Understanding and talk about it but he's Able to talk through it through personal Experience and you see that so again Having that is is huge for me Yeah um you know I've I'm grateful to be In a draft class that I was and have Other quarterbacks um in this class that You know I have a ton of respect for it I've grown to be close with and um you Know I I definitely have my my hands Full here I've definitely been been Wired in and locked in here but you know We all root for each other we you know There's been you know communication We've all talked but you know we're Locked in our in our respective teams But you know we all have that mutual Respect for each other uh Mutual mutual
Love we all wish the best for each other And you know I only can speak for myself But I'm I'm focused on doing everything I can to be the best Panther I can the Best teammate best player and do Everything for um that I can for the Organization you know a lot of time is Spent up on that um but with that being Said again I have that conversation I Had talked to people and Um you know all the guys I came in with I have a ton of respect for and um you Know it's great that we kind of have That the relationship that we have as a Draft class so I'm always rooting for Those guys appreciate it Respect
