Week two car talk you're ready to go bud I'm ready I love golf carts by the way Golf carts I'm a big golf cart guy So like if you're on a golf course and You're driving are you holding the next Club in your hand like are you already Ready to go well I've I've been known to Have a little 80 80d so I do sometimes Grab the club and just anticipation for Uh my next shot you know just already Ready to hit and I'm a fast golfer Because my wife is texting me usually Like hey where you at get your butt home That's right have you ever hit a golf Shot into the into the trees oh yes more Than once I don't know if you know Anything about Club Pro guy but I have Uh mastered the punch out game and I Practice my Punch Out shots on the Range Like like Club Pro guy what club would Like be your club like sand wedge Everywhere probably you know what I Really like like a like a driving iron So I can just rip it off the tee and Then and then I can still kind of work It a little bit I can hit some punch Shots just roll it up on the green and I Can still putt with it perfect like how Would you putt with it would you kind of Hit with like the Leading Edge yeah I'd Top it oh you top it yeah I would just Just the bottom edge of the club and Just kind of Um we actually had in high school our
Golf coach would make us do the one Club Challenge so we had to just grab we had To pick a club and then we had to play We had to play nine holes just with one Club nine holes one Club what would you Shoot there that's a great question I Don't know what I would shoot but uh it Was it was good because what it did it It made you be creative and uh golf is a Game that you have to have a little bit Of creativity Um you know you might you might have a 150 yard shot but you could hit it 10 Different ways okay so speaking Creativity you played golf you're out There for what four hours what's the Best creative thank you to your wife That you can come up with like a date Night you go there oh a thank you well Well sometimes it's like five hours you Know by the time you drive there you Warm up you know for date night we Really enjoy going to like sporting Events so we'll go to a baseball game We'll go to dinner before uh we'll go to A basketball game you know go to dinner Before and and that's kind of our Favorite thing so that's probably what I'm my go-to is sporting event okay so You guys are kind of we're having this Conversation before we are like in under Like tunnels and bridges here So we had this conversation before date Night you're more shoulder to shoulder
Activities then watching watching us Yeah you're more shoulder to shoulder I Guess I've never really thought of it That way but yeah I think I think that's Kind of our that's our favorite um Obviously Um you know sometimes you just have a Quick date night go to dinner quick but Okay so if you went to dinner And you have a table like a booth on one Side chairs on the other Are you guys sitting across from each Other or shoulder shoulder no no that's Weird a lot of eye contact yeah what What hap what if it's like a square Table are you going like at the angle I Feel like you're set up for failure if You sit on the same side gotta but That's just an opinion that's it no well This is your car talk it's your opinion Whatever you want to do or you like a Take the Lead I'm gonna order appetizers Sort of thing for the table you defer to Your wife does she pick dessert how does That do well thankfully we're we're kind Of on the same page as far as food we Like the very similar thing so we're Definitely going to start out with Nachos and and buffalo wings And then we're probably going to get Salmon and steak if it's you know a Nicer dinner if it's just kind of like Barfo we're probably doing she's Probably doing a wrap and I'm probably
Doing a burger and sweet potato fries And then we'll probably nibble off each Other's plates one thing about us too is Is we'll get a babysitter we'll go out We'll have date nights we try to do it Once a week and um what day is your date Night There's no consistent day it's just like Whatever like Friday Saturday and during The season you know maybe Um maybe Friday night okay Um but uh but the funny thing is is as We get out we go to dinner we usually Eat like super fast and then like are Like all right should we go put the kids To bed and so we like rush home and he Put the kids to bed so it's like one of Those things where you're like you can't Wait to go but then you're away from the Kids like I gotta steam before they go To bed hold on real fast I'm gonna take Another lap because I have to know the Answer to this date night you rush home To put your kids down yeah that's it's a Really weird thing but you know you're Supposed to do date night so that you Don't have to put your kids down yeah I I I agree uh I had to get that out there I had to be honest so Um yeah we do I don't know we it's just We both feel the same way I'm I'm the Type person too like uh a date night for Me like the perfect date night would be Like having dinner at our house with no
One there so kick the kids so we can Just eat quick and then just lay the Feet up watch a TV series Um and maybe maybe a movie we're more TV Series people than movie you may like Popcorn we do we're big popcorn people So you gotta make the air pop popcorn Caitlyn makes my wife makes the the half Butter half Um ah shoot um coconut oil coconut oil See we've tried that that's what is the Coconut oil is that coconut oil yeah With the butter yes the mix and then she Gives it to me hands to me I make all The popcorn put the butter on there and Then I make her a bowl separate because She likes cheese on top I do not cheese On the popcorn yeah she puts cheese and Then puts in the microwave melted cheese On her popcorn wow I haven't tried this And what like what shows are you guys Watching right now Um well we just finished the last season Of Ted lasso okay Um we we've gone through them all I mean Anytime a new one comes on Netflix or Apple TV we're we're jumping on it so What do you think's a better show The Office Parks and Rec Or you ever watched Friends yeah I mean I think I feel like they're all pretty Similar but the office the office okay Which character do you most identify
With in the office oh that's good Um probably Michael people here have Called me people here have called me Creed that's not a great that's not a Great comp but it's the one I've gotten Yeah I mean there you go you have to you Know kind of own who you are I guess if It's Parks have you seen Parks and Rec I Have yeah all right if it's Parks and Rec I definitely am Ron Swanson okay Yeah that's that's a good that's Definitely that's a good comp I like That all right so I'm gonna do popcorn With cheese yes that's that's Caitlyn's Recipe right oh and then one more thing On that topic oh you have to do thin and Crispy pizza with pepperoni and chicken Thin and crispy pizza With what pepperoni and chicken Pepperoni you ever put bacon on it yeah We well I add all that so my wife just Like pepperoni chicken so I'm fine with That but usually I'll do one pizza Pepperoni chicken one pepperoni chicken With like onions and all the meat lovers You know what we're gonna we're gonna Take it back out we got a few more Things to talk about We got a few more things to talk about On Car Talk we're getting a lot of Content yeah we're gonna just take Another lap we're all about the content That's right we're just gonna take Another lap okay so are you making the
Pizzas like from scratch that's my Favorite but uh well well not from Scratch usually we'll find like a good Crust okay um and then we'll make my Wife will make pizza and then I'll Usually put in the Traeger And then I'll smoke it so you'll okay Smoke it how long does that take I mean You're not really smoking it's more like Just a con what is it uh just more of Like an oven you know on the on the Traeger but but we also do order out uh Our thing is after every single game my Entire career after every single game we Have ordered pizza on the way home so It's on our doorstep when we get there And then we have pizza night every every Game so Sunday night pizza night yes Okay here here's my last question and Then probably five more after that do You have more preference for a place That delivers in general or do you like The process of calling and going and Getting your own food Whatever it is and picking new food Um I'm too lazy too lazy you're a busy Man you got your golfing kids everywhere You got kids you got three kids three Kids right kids three kids They're keeping you busy and you're Doing bedtimes yeah you're you're the Champ of bedtime we don't love bedtimes But we but we love but we love bedtime So that makes sense what what time is
Bedtime in the feeling 7 30. that's That's reasonable that's the start so Usually the youngest goes down with 7 30 She kind of gets her down the baby and Then and then the other two the process Starts at 7 30 which with boys it Usually ends up being like eight eight Fifteen you know they're coming out of Their bed six times but uh but no I love That part of it are they like a daddy One More Story like they're uh kids are Like they want to wrestle and rough House like what does that look like and They definitely try to rough house but Then I get yelled at because I'm Walling Them up and then they definitely aren't Going to bed you get yelled at by your Wife not your kids yeah kids are into it Yeah kids are all about it kids are into It okay and then but the really the big Thing is Um because we have boys our two oldest Are boys the babies a girl it's uh They're Mama's Boys so it's like can you Please tell Mom to come in and say good Night I'm like no I haven't seen you for A few days it's my bedtime but then you Know they they give me a hard time until I make mom come in and then my oldest Now he's got me figured out because for A while I'd be like yeah yeah I'll go Get Mom and then I wouldn't so now he's Like Dad you never actually go get Mom You have to get her this time so
He's on to me they're doing an excellent Work over here on all they are detailing Of cars they are I need to I need to get In line see that that's that's an Important We got a new car here too lots of new Cars it's always you always know right After uh free agency hits because There's a lot of fresh there's a lot of Fresh money in the in the locker room so You got a few new cars so the detailers Always start showing up that's like that That's important so the car guys the Detailers know where to come they start Dwindling off as the season goes on the Season gets a little bit longer Fewer new cars the the off season's Coming everyone's not getting paid quite As much money as the year goes along so Well that is awesome Welcome to Carolina yeah you're probably Playing a lot more golf now that you're Here yes I've been playing a lot of golf Um I've been enjoying that the weather's Been great and uh yeah I mean I've Really enjoyed the food the food here is Awesome what's what's the number one Like new like barbecue Yeah I mean really just Southern there's Just so many good restaurants that are Not chains yes where I feel like Minnesota is it's like a lot of chains Chain restaurants that you're not Getting as much of the like Mom and Paw
Shop you know one-offs or maybe a couple Of Charlotte locations so I've really Enjoyed that so the next date night We're gonna we're gonna babysitter comes At like what six o'clock babysitter Comes at probably well no we're we're Weird we um I have to admit we eat Dinner at about 5 15. So we're a babysitter about 4 30. that's Why we're allowed to get home by bedtime Wow yeah 5 15 eat dinner get home quick Put them down to bed and then I have now We're ready for snack Wow you guys you guys got this down to a Side yes this was awesome we're on a Routine I appreciate it buddy yeah thank You welcome to Carolina appreciate it Guys appreciate it that was good
