By the end of October, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will wrap up its 2024 “Ride With The Music” concert series in partnership with JazzArts. These free, pop-up concerts feature performances by local jazz artists at Blue Line stations across the city.
Rail commuters can enjoy a special performance by the JazzArts All-Star Youth Ensemble at 7th Street Station for the final concert in this year’s series. Be sure to take a photo/video if you stop by and share it on social media with #CATSRideWithTheMusic!

Something that can be, you know, a surprise on your evening commute. We're inserting these, you know, not so random acts of culture Into the, you know, the urban environment, You know, in a way that makes it accessible to everyone. I think it was something that was, you know, very welcomed, You know, with people just not congregating together in person for a while. And, you know, hearing live music again was just Kind of a delightful thing to, to bring to the community. Being able to have this really unique engagement and this, You know, close engagement with the community. I think it's very special because it allows the artists And the community members to be, you know, for there to be no barriers between them. Playing, you know, at a light rail station is a very unique opportunity For a musician. And so, it's really great for them to be able to Get out of their comfort zone, get off stage and bring Their music to the people in an everyday environment like this. The goal of it is to be this kind of surprise thing that people come across And, you know, can appreciate.
