Chambers High will have a new coach and be without star running back Daylan Smothers, and the Cougars feel fans are doubting them, fueling their run for a 5th straight finals appearance.

The city of Charlotte, North Carolina was chartered 150 years ago by English-Irish immigrants. These men discovered the area while traveling on the Great Wagon Road from Philadelphia. They named the town after Queen Charlotte, the German-born wife of King George III of England. Hence, it was given the nickname “Queen City.”

In the last ten years, the Charlotte Chamber has successfully attracted 6,790 new companies, creating 56,338 new jobs and attracting $11,020 million in new investment. With a highly educated population, Charlotte is an excellent place to establish a business. The city has numerous ways to stay cool. Visitors can enjoy Charlotte concerts or visit one of the many local establishments to enjoy icy drinks. While visiting Charlotte, remember to bring your sunscreen!

Charlotte is an extremely bicycle-friendly city. You will find wide sidewalks, minimal vehicular traffic, and many other cycling options. If you are into motor racing, Charlotte is home to several speedways and racing schools, a NASCAR Hall of Fame, and a museum showcasing local and international motor sports. If you love history, you may want to visit the Charlotte Museum of History and visit the Hezekiah Alexander Rock House.

If you’re a sports fan, Charlotte has something for everyone. This cosmopolitan metropolis has four seasons and is home to professional sports teams. Charlotte is the home of the Carolina Panthers, Hornets, and Knights. The city has a long history of hosting NASCAR events and has hosted the first ever professional stock car race. The NASCAR Hall of Fame is one of the city’s favorite attractions.
