The rookie guard discusses his first action of the preseason and him offensive line mentors.


I will start with questions Chandler um what did you take away from Like first live action uh sort of just Pop my cherry just put my name's called Just staying ready it's just for Everybody young guys though guys just Got to stay ready when your name is Called You mostly played left guard how Different is it playing on the right Side uh just gotta work on it just on Your own even with coaches when they try To make you do something just do it it's His business and then you do stuff on Your own to get better at it as well From Me up this in the power five conference Everybody's trying to get a job so Everybody's gonna play Fast just like They're playing NFL You did well but he felt like he needed To improve on I think uh when you get Well in a lot of areas in my game but Then I performed like I was okay like For not being passed for like eight Months it was the second day in pads I Did okay but I could do a lot better Second time in pads this summer yeah Friday night yeah Was it kind of like the first hit like We hear a lot of guys say You kind of need like a good Collision Or a good contact to Get rolling yeah just to get rolling

Just having put pads on the Wyoming I Have pads on last week but it was one Time but just needed like one just to Get rolling Hamstrings are kind of hard to kind of Maneuver around for a rehab standpoint Did it get frustrating kind of not being Out there oh yeah but at the same time It's not you don't take a step back you Just take a lot of mental reps and make Sure everything else in your body is Ready to go when you when it's time to Go is there a guy that you kind of asked Who's your like constant for advice or Or just technique in general I lost I Asked the Vets like all of them across The line but I really talked to Corbett And he's really been helpful for me Kind of describe the I don't think this Compton is just like We're both for all trying to play so We're just going to go out there and Have fun when it's our time to go I said a little bit to time in the Run Game during this during this last Preseason game what did you see on tape Uh just we all just gotta do what we do Best and not just let's do what we do That's all And do you have a good idea I mean You've been out there a little bit Um like you said you have an idea of What you guys do well as a unit I think We do everything well as a unit it's

Just execution that's all it is What advice Uh just a little pointers is tech Technical skills when coming from College I'm proud five to the NFL is a Lot about tech it's not about always Strength and Brew strength and all this Technique and stuff so he's been helping Me with a lot of that Frank kind of kind of paused And then he puts you right out there I'm Very grateful that he did that and very Honored but it's also like when your Name's called and stuff you just it's Just Factor just being ready no matter What you never know anything can happen No I did not You send a text to Scott uh before you Got drafted how's that Tech start going These days it's going well so I talked To us and we talked we didn't talk about It but he always just said something he Sees me and stuff and it benefited me a Lot I'm here so thankful Thank you
