Charlotte, North Carolina – A Great Place to Live
Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News
From the city’s rich culture to its diverse cuisine and welcoming people, Charlotte exemplifies what Southern living is all about. The city’s neighborhoods are bursting with charm and character, offering unique lifestyle options that range from urban to suburban.
There’s no shortage of fun activities for families to enjoy in Charlotte, from museums and parks to festivals and fairs. The North Carolina Music Hall of Fame is a must-see for anyone with a passion for music, honoring the state’s great musicians from the past and present with instruments, costumes, and record pressings. Another interesting museum is the Museum of the Alphabet, which takes a look at language from all angles and includes exhibits on lost alphabets like cuneiform as well as the evolution of our own alphabet.
While it’s important to keep in mind that there are some parts of the city that can feel more rural, the majority of Charlotte residents embrace a suburban lifestyle and work hard to maintain the quality of the city. They take pride in keeping their neighborhoods clean and often volunteer to help neighbors with chores. They also tend to be very friendly and kind, making it easy for newcomers to make friends and fit in.
Charlotte has some of the best schools in the southeast and offers a wide range of educational opportunities for kids, from public to charter to private. There are also many excellent higher education institutions, including the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Johnson & Wales University. Sports fans will love Charlotte’s professional teams, from the NBA’s Hornets and Panthers to the NHL’s Hurricanes. The region also has a handful of minor league baseball, soccer, and hockey teams to keep sports enthusiasts happy.
