Charlotte North Carolina – A Big City With a Small Town Feel
Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News
A big city with a small town feel, Charlotte’s got it all. Whether it’s a rowdy basketball game, chart-topping musical act, or colorful city celebration, residents are always finding ways to get together. The Queen City is also a banking and financial powerhouse, with Bank of America headquarters and Wells Fargo’s East Coast Operations both located here. It has a renowned reputation for being one of the most dynamic cities in the nation.
Families will find plenty to do, including the kids-favorite Carowinds amusement park and Discovery Place, a hands-on learning museum. Foodies can eat their way through the many local eateries and food truck stops, while beer lovers will find plenty of local breweries to visit and explore.
For those looking to get active, there are more than 80 miles of bike paths and a huge variety of fitness classes and gyms to choose from. The city is also a popular sports destination, with college and professional teams for baseball, basketball, football, hockey, and more. The city hosted the first professional stock car race in 1949, and today it is home to the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Uptown Charlotte.
A big city with a small town feel, you’ll find that living in Charlotte is surprisingly affordable. Though it’s not as cheap as New York, Charlotte is on par with most other cities in the South and only about 2 percent more expensive than the national average.
