Charlotte North Carolina – The Queen City

Charlotte, North Carolina is the largest city in the state. It is located in the Piedmont region. The region is situated between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. This means that the city has a wide range of climates.

Charlotte has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the United States. It is also one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas. Charlotte is home to a diverse population. A few of the top employers in the city include Bank of America, American Airlines, and Lowe’s.

Charlotte is located close to several lakes, including Lake Norman and Lake Wylie. In addition, it is a short drive to Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, and Boone.

Although Charlotte has a relatively large population, the town is known for its laid-back Southern charm. In fact, the area is referred to as the “Queen City.”

Charlotte has an unusually high number of Fortune 500 companies. Some of the major energy producers in the city include Duke Energy, Fluor, AREVA, and URS Corporation.

In the late twentieth century, ambitious modernizing programs helped the city grow. In particular, the South End neighborhood became popular with younger people because of light rail lines that passed through the neighborhood.

In the 1950s and 1960s, Charlotte was the center of civil rights activity. Several prominent museums in the city, such as the Levine Museum of the New South, feature the history of the city and the South.

Today, the job market is heavy in the health care, insurance, and finance fields. The city’s median salary is higher than the U.S. average.
