Charlotte North Carolina – A Great Place to Live
Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News
The Queen City has a lot to offer its residents. Whether it’s heated sports battles, chart-topping entertainers, or colorful city celebrations, Charlotte is a great place to live with something going on year-round.
Young families love the family-friendly attractions such as Carowinds and Discovery Place. Outdoor enthusiasts can’t get enough of the recreation choices like the US National Whitewater Center and Lake Wylie. With six Fortune 500 companies headquartered here, Charlotte is a great town for business professionals as well.
Charlotte’s climate is temperate, with mild winters and summers. But it can also be a bit humid at times. The city’s proximity to the coast means a low risk of snow, but it’s still in a state known for hurricanes and flooding.
As in most major cities, Charlotte’s residents rely on cars for transportation. But the Charlotte Area Transit System (or CATS) has buses, streetcars, and the LYNX Light Rail to make getting around easier. It’s a good way to avoid rush-hour traffic and explore the neighborhoods of Charlotte. Of course, many suburban communities also have their own private transportation systems.
