Charlotte North Carolina – A Great Place to Live

In 1799, the area that is now Charlotte, North Carolina, became the scene of the first gold rush in the United States. This gold rush resulted in the federal government opening a branch of the US Mint here, now known as the Mint Museum. The city was also home to many gold mines and some of its streets were paved with gold. The streets have been used in films such as Homeland. The city has also twice hosted presidential nominating conventions.

Charlotte North Carolina offers a diverse array of residential neighborhoods that are located near a variety of popular attractions and amenities. The SouthPark neighborhood, located near the Uptown district, offers the city’s largest business district, employing more than 40,000 people. It is also home to many established neighborhoods that are elegant and surrounded by trees. Schools in the area include Sharon Elementary, Selwyn Elementary, Alexander Graham Middle, and South Mecklenburg High School.
