Charlotte North Carolina

Moving to Charlotte North Carolina

Events, Life, Sports, Weather

For a city of its size, Charlotte is fairly affordable. Home prices are lower than in other major US cities, and so are rental rates. The city offers plenty of parks and green spaces to get outdoors. Plus, it’s just a few hours away from the beaches and the mountains.

Charlotte also has a thriving nightlife scene, with a huge variety of bars, clubs and restaurants. The city has an extensive array of festivals and events. It’s also a hub for sport; fans can cheer on the Carolina Panthers, Hornets and BB&T Knights as well as their favorite NASCAR drivers.

The city is a top banking center with Bank of America and Wells Fargo having their headquarters here. American Airlines and Lowe’s are also significant employers. Technology is becoming more of a focus here, too, with companies like Amazon opening warehouses in the city.

Many people move to Charlotte because of the wide range of outdoor activities available in the area. There are miles of trails for hiking, biking and jogging. There’s whitewater rafting on the Catawba River, and the city is within easy driving distance of both the beach and the mountains.

Families love living in Charlotte, too. There are a number of kid-friendly attractions, including Discovery Place Nature Museum, Reed Gold Mine where you can pan for real gold, and Big Air Trampoline Park. There’s also plenty to do for couples. They can get buzzed while brewery hopping around the city, catch laughs at a comedy show or channel their creativity on a paint and sip date.
