I mean for us to get it then as much as We did during the OTAs that was great Working with Shai and Deshawn those two Those guys are fast off the ball how Does their speed I think we all got different things that We bring to the table so I mean just Everybody's different trade that you Know they dominate in I mean that's it's Been good for us because we've just been Able to mesh especially during OTs Highly anticipated for you guys with the Excitement surrounding Bryce and the new Staff Um yeah I would say so but you know I Feel like every year around campus Always the same excitement man just you Know everybody excited to get back out Here everybody excited football to come Back Braces obviously a young guy he's coming In with a lot of veterans what is it About his personality that makes him Very easy to to follow or to get along With as a veteran player I haven't spent Much time with him and I mean it's cool Calm and Collective man and I mean he's Got guys in the room like Andy that you Know have done it for a long time and Been able to he's sitting there being Able to pick off their brain you grew up In Atlanta Very familiar with the South and the NFC South
Is there a feeling that this you know There's a real opportunity to seize this Division kind of you know be the head of It for the next few years with all the Changes at quarterback uh you know I Definitely think there's a chance Um you know for us to come in here and You know we've got to put that work in Man to be honest I mean for us to be Able to do anything we say we want to do I mean it's got to happen now what's it Been like working with toddwash Coach Was cool man be cool yeah what do you Like about why do you say School I mean It takes care of you uh I mean we work Though so I mean just getting back to That super grind I mean that's what I Love so he's kind of known for his Energy he does he kind of bring out the Energy in you guys oh yeah definitely I Mean he you know from day one we had a Conversation and you know the Tone's Been set so I mean it's nothing else to Talk about from there we just go out we Work he's been a defensive coordinator In this league what what advantage does That kind of give you from a positions Uh position room skill like feedback Sort of thing yeah I mean there's a Super smart uh being able to break down Offices and you know give us that extra Like Memento in our brain that like you Know we would ever thought of before I Noticed some of the drills that y'all
Were doing during a tasa mini camp kind Of rip up the the grass is that Something I'll anticipate doing there And what is it about the intensity it's Kind of like kind of destroyed it I just Think it's trying to get you in shape Um you know the league it's you know run And pass so I mean just being able to Play both and deal with 700 pounds worth Of guys and then be able to run and Chase I mean just get us in shape for That stuff does it feel like Uh I mean same tone every day to be Honest Not a lot of NFL teams still do this you Know come here for a couple weeks Uh you know I'll get a chance to see him On the weekends so I'm excited about it That's tough leaving them uh my kids and My family for sure and you know but you Know work's got to be done so somebody's Got to do it It's coming to maybe uh away from your Home environment for a training camp Yeah I mean just to being able to be Around the guys 24 7. Um you know especially like this in this Setting we'll be here every day all day So uh it's one of those things where you Know you get to not only go home in the Evening time but just kind of sit around And hang out with each other at the end Of the night We
Thought a little bit about how you guys Relationship has been this off season I've known shot for a little while be Honest from college when he was in College and I wasn't getting recruited And stuff but uh you know it it was Funny so uh that's all I got to say About a shot but uh you know it's I Think we're gonna do Well together so I'm excited for it That now you've been here what four Years I think going into four yeah What's uh your advice Don't think about how long we're gonna Be here Just go Your game kind of evolving as a pass Pressure this year what's some of the Things that he sent you off into the Offseason with the work on Um just had a work stand on the edge of Folks um being able to have counter Moves and being able to just do all the Different things Um you know like he you know he wants it For me I want it for myself so I mean That just comes along with the territory You want to be a dominant player you got To be able to do everything at a high Level in all aspects Toothbrush toothbrush I mean I'm I'm I'm I'm simplistic I uh I'm the boring guy So I mean other than my maybe my iPad so I can watch movies other than that
Nothing much About being here Away from home home away from Charlotte What's what's the one big positive out Of all you've touched on a bunch of Things and the benefits of what's the Big positive that you guys get from from Being away from the city and being out Here I think you know this time it's Kind of like you know we we you know we Get you know nice conversation for what We do so I mean we all live different Lives and have all these different Things going on 24 7 so I mean when you Come here like it's a chance to truly Like shut down everything else and like Just worry about ball because like no Matter where you turn it's either a Coach or another guy that plays right Beside you so I mean those things that You dealt with during the day you're not Waiting till the next morning to get to Stay in that office all night if you Need to and I mean you just it's Football 24 7 down here Derek is very fiend to this Camp that's Shown up on signs or t-shirts I mean is There kind of a message that's been Matriculated throughout the roster and The staff Uh other than we needed we wanted we Want to win that's the thing um you know I don't think very many people give us a Chance at the beginning of the year to
Do much of anything so I think for us to Be able to come down here and you know Working with the staff working with These guys I mean going out here and Proving folks wrong I mean I think That's the only message that the team's Got over here right now why do you think That is Terms of no one giving you a chance In this part of you that sort of likes Yeah man Um you know like they say about snake Man they won't bite you till you see it So I mean it's one of those things that Is one of those things that I think in My head that you know it's it's we got Every opportunity above us right now All right thanks Derek
