What It’s Like to Live in Charlotte, North Carolina
If you ask a Charlotte local what they love about their home, they’ll regale you with stories of four beautiful seasons, reasonable cost of living, gorgeous East Coast nature, and friendly small(er) town charm with a big city skyline. But what is it like to actually live there? Here’s what you should know before you make your move to the Queen City.
Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News
Charlotte is a culturally rich city with tons of things to do and see. You’ll find art shows, music festivals, historic homes and gardens to explore in addition to the city’s many museums.
The booming craft beer scene is also worth checking out, with Charlotte boasting more than 40 breweries, from large-scale spots like Heist Brewing to smaller taprooms and bars that serve brunch (and kombucha, for those who’d rather not drink beer). You can even get a taste of the action by attending a brewery tour or visiting one of the city’s coolest converted industrial spaces, such as the converted textile mill turned Food Hall at the old Davidson Mill.
The city is also a major sports hub with teams at all levels of professional American sports, from the NFL’s Carolina Panthers to the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets. The city also hosts sporting events of national and international importance, including the longest NASCAR race of the year, the Coca-Cola 600, and golf’s Wells Fargo Championship.
