Jackson spoke about healing from an Achilles injury last year and enjoying team camaraderie as the season approaches.
How are you feeling man how's how's the Achilles oh feeling great feeling great Um about seven months and some change I'll be eight months next week but I'm Feeling great was back running at like Five and a half six months um feeling Strong just yeah just using all this Time that I have up until training camp To just keep getting more and more ready Uh diving in the system and diving in You know just my rehab your expectation That you'll be ready for the starter Campers and still to be determined I Understood to be the term but I feel Great um it's all about what the Training room said I've been I've been Going with they playing Um trusting them to help me throughout This and they've been great um so yeah Just whatever they have planned for me I Know I'll be be ready uh to come camp What was your reaction when you I mean you know it it'd be like that you Know um that guy that guy's a hard Worker you know what I'm saying so um When when it happens like that you know You just take it and just knowing he Gonna get back right and he'd be uh back With us we can't I love the injuries There's opportunities for younger guys What is Really smart really smart player um Asked a lot of questions of just eager To learn that's that's the best thing
When when you talk about a young guy you Know just being eager to learn from guys Asked a lot of questions uh and he's He's just been a been a student he's Writing down everything asking a lot of Questions and just just getting after it On the practice field special teams in Defense uh really excited to see uh how Mark uh play out in Camp is he the Fastest guy in the team You're talking to the fastest man Go ahead Scott uh Goals For two three Um just do everything I can to to help The team win Um I feel like we're in a great position The Vibes are are Immaculate throughout OTAs you know guys are just you know Giving it their all guys are fighting so You know my expectations is to go out There and do my job at a very high level Um and just help my team win as much as I can we feel The Vibes I mean what do You think has led to the change and kind Of atmosphere other than the obvious What's the obvious You almost say that I would say the Obvious is just everybody's happy to be Back playing football but I don't know What the obvious is to you uh Personnel and yeah yeah I mean just I Just think it yeah Personnel is you know We're football players you know so I
Think everybody's just excited and eager Just to learn more football and learn Different ways and learn you know just New coaches staff's ways and I think um Everybody's just been just been happy Just to be around each other to get back Around the building get back around Football you know I I was here Throughout the whole off season when Nobody was in the building so I was Definitely happy to see everybody back In the building you know playing ping Pong you know joking talking so it's Just it's a big part of just you know Just building that camaraderie you know Guys just actually want to be around Each other and it's hard when you got a Team Um for the guys in our OTAs to get Everybody to just want to be around each Other because you know the schedule is Shorter you know guys are doing stuff You know outside the building and stuff Like that but this team this year has Been different you know guys are just Wanting to come in even on like off days Or even days we get out early you know Guys are staying after just just Building you know sitting in the locker Room talking and just you know just kind Of just building you know the stuff That's going to be important come November and December you know you get All that right now
You compare and contrast this staff to The previous one I mean It was around this time it's really hard To tell you know what I'm saying use no Really comparisons you know I'm around This time you know most coaches in the League are very detailed very Um Just very direct and you know what they Want done and what they want to see Around this time you know I it's better Better question you know when when Bullets start flying and guys you know Actually start you know doing different Things out there um but I mean I really Don't don't really have any you know Differences but it's just like it's a Hard time to tell for real Observer for The last few months is any player that Just sort of jumped out that you weren't Expecting to perform I wasn't not Expecting to Um definitely expected this guy to to Show up I'm ready to go but Stanley Stanley uh Thomas Oliver he's been he's Been great you know they moving him Around a lot in the secondary letting Them see different positions play the Position but he always been a smart Player a very detailed player um and He's very really showing up for the Defense in huge ways um this OTAs again With chin again with um with Vine you Know those guys just coming in and just
You know attacking they roll and just Been you know been been great for the Group Jonathan police got a really like Outgoing personality what's he like in The meeting groups Um very outgoing Um he's very you know he's he's one he Just want to connect with the players You know you don't want it to always Feel like it's just a high intense Moment you know you want to make Learning fun you want to make football Fun you know you know the way it's Supposed to be so that's really is not His personality you know what I'm saying He just want to make sure everybody Ain't always you know so so tight and You know he's bringing ease to the room And um you always need a guy like that I Mean coolie's been great though he's Definitely um his personality definitely Goes with the group what's your tank Operation so far very even kill very Calm Smart smart guy smart football player You can tell he's played a lot of Football Um over his you know young career you Can tell he's he's been a lot of high High high intensity moments a lot of big Games he made a lot of big plays because You can just tell with his Poise and his Calmness and yeah he's just even kill You know this guy who just comes to work
To work and you know what I'm saying That's what it is yesterday that you can Tell he knows he's good but he's so Humble and he doesn't really come off of His sad use the word that he apologize For but Um anything like that moments you see With him yeah that's that's very Accurate that's very accurate like I Said he's just very even killed man he You're not gonna get a whole lot from Him verbally but you know you're gonna Get a whole lot from him physically so Yeah he's a really good player like I Said you can just tell he's been in a Lot of high stress moments he didn't Play that big program you know he'd been Playing in some big games you know what I'm saying uh yeah that's just what you See from him right now he's really just Taking command taking control of the Offense I'ma just be chilling uh working out Continuing my rehab and stuff like that Man Um Yeah that's about it stay around Charlotte and just you know train and Just get ready for Camp huh nothing Beachy oh no nothing beachy you've been Here a long time How exciting was this off season for you To see the coaching change and then to Go again Bryce and then the other moves
That that Oh very excited very excited you know um Everybody has the same goal in mind in The building in the city everywhere you Know we we all want to win we all want To win right now so just seeing some of The some of the aggressive moves we were Making throughout the off season Um it was good it was great you know us All the guys talking off in the group Message and stuff like that just just Excited just ready to get back in the Building I think attest to the question I think you asked earlier um why is the Excitement so much you know because we Actually see Everybody wanting to win and see Everybody buying in and that's I think That's causes for guys to want to be Around each other to want to you know do Things as a team and to want to just Hang out and stuff like that because we All see the direction that's going in Early yeah what was that group test like That Friday March [Music] I mean that's when we didn't know who Who we were taking so it was just like You know just excited Um knowing you were going to take one of Those players you know all those guys it Really wasn't the wrong answer with all Those guys um but definitely definitely Happy with the with the guy we chose um
But yeah like I said it was no wrong Answer so we knew we was going to go get A dog and we definitely happy with the Dog we got because um he he he's Different you battled through a [Music] Couple of Settle back have you guys have you Talked to him have you believe on him Yeah I talked to TD today Um Smitty um Dilo you know guys Smitty And Dilo actually Twitter and Kelly so Definitely I'm just hearing from those Guys and just hearing how to back in is Something that you you're not even going To be worrying about it you're going to Be straight you're gonna be good it's Gonna be like normal just hearing that That reassurance just helps me mentally You know what I'm saying because that Was pretty much the hardest part yeah Physically it's obvious you got to get Back but mentally was the hardest part For me you know just not being able to Be out there Um team captain just not being around my Brothers and stuff like that so mentally Getting out the hole was the hardest Thing but just hearing the reassurance From guys who didn't been through it and Um and know that they're not still still Not having those problems and stuff like That that was very reassuring when I
Couldn't walk on my own and just hearing Stuff like that was definitely helped me Get through the times I was going Through [Music] Um it took me from November when it Happened to about late January early February to to like pretty much after The Super Bowl it was when I was just Like all right new start get your mind Right you know what I'm saying Everybody's starting now so you know but Definitely was hard you know definitely Was a lot of sleepless nights a lot of Crying a lot of just sad just you know Just because I feel like I wasn't able To really do nothing but um yeah getting Out of it was was was was the best Because when I got out of it was OTAs Was starting I was able to see my Teammates and you know talk to guys be Around the guys but uh definitely Definitely in a better place now and I'm Just ready to go now for real yesterday This is the best work of a group of Rookies that he's been around what's Been your your thought process on how These guys have come along and how have They impressed you I mean just the the It's the one one like main Dynamic from You can put the into that whole group is Just guys are hungry man um guys see the Opportunities right in front them you Know there's a new staff everybody's out
There kind of we all starting from Beginning when you talk about new staff So I guess you see those young guys Coming and they kind of understand that You know I'm saying they kind of coming In hungry like you know they all start New so you know we're gonna go and take Some spots or we're gonna go and make a Name for ourselves and not that you can Never be mad at that with a group of Rookies who all kind of have that that Same mentality to come in and play and That's what we want the young guys to Come in I mean when I came in you know TDM was looking at me like you better be Ready to play you know what I'm saying So just just having those guys coming And already feeling like that way is is Awesome What about Jamie Jamie Pitbull he's one Of my favorite players in the DB room One of my favorite guys to talk to Um he's just he's just football man and Um that that type stuff you just can't Teach you know he's just he he he can be A Difference Maker earlier I mean like a Like a Tyran Matthew hybrid He's able to consume and the the amount Of positions he's able to play Um yeah he can be a good good player in The secondary for a long time you know Um and he's definitely showing it with How smart he is and how physical he is It's kind of
Off that's obviously a challenge I mean with a guy like Bryce you just Want to go at his Pace you know um we Know how how overwhelming his life has Been the last five six months Um so you just go at his Pace man There's no rush we got a long season Um we talk when we talk when we don't we Don't you know but we all back and then We all behind him and um yeah like I Said you know we got time is it like I Said he's been he's been overwhelmed With people all in his face for a long Time and we just we just rolling out you Know it's a long season and we all gonna Be be getting well just just just fine In the long run you could tell what type Of teammate he is thank you guys have a Good time

That’s a big advantage over places like New York where there is a lot of disparity between in-state and out-of-state residents when it comes to tax rates.
