Okay good work out there today you know In a in a walkr mode get on a short week Um you know making final preparations in These last 48 hours uh get focused and Ready to Go is there outside of the guys that Have concussions is are there other Starters that you were pretty much Ruling out at this point um but really The only two that I meant you know like You said are the concussion guys you Know uh Burns and Henderson you know They they'll be out they will be out That's all I'm you know that's all we're Ready to say right now I know you have a History with Jordan Matthews uh but he Was a wide receiver the last time you Guys were together how was he grown as a Tight end and how can he help this this Group Jordan's an explosive athlete you Know obviously he's you know when we had Him as a receipt when I had him as a Receiver he was about 220 you know he's You know 230 plus now so he's put on a Little bit of weight and bulk and Strength and uh he looks super explosive Um you see his receiver skills but yet He is a you know as you know from Watching him Mike you know he was a very Physical receiver so this transition to Tight end was pretty natural for him and Um you know where he can he can hold his Own in the Run game and do what he has To do so um obviously no are here but
Have a lot of confidence in Jordan he's A real Pro and um he'll be ready to go And play whatever role we need him to Play uh Chicago is known kind of Obviously for windy weather and Conditions and the field and all that Stuff what's the biggest chall Challenge From like a preparation standpoint with That field with that atmosphere you know I just think it's you you just don't Blink at it you know you know it's going To be windy there um and you know so you You adapt I mean you know you maybe does It change the way you call the game I Mean I I looked at the weather it's Supposed to be pretty decent you know There'll be wins will be in the teens You know so it'll be a little bit of a Factor but not a huge Factor so to me Once it gets over 20 m an hour then you Know then you got to start thinking About some things but I think it should Be a pretty nice evening does Blake Martinez have an opportunity to be uh We're still evaluating that I mean he Does have familiarity with the system it Is a nice insurance policy you know it Would be a quick it would be a quick up You know um I guess if anyone could do It he might be able to given his Experience and his knowledge but you Know we'll see how it plays out over the Next uh next day I apologize you have Answered this before this week what was
The inspiration even moving practice to The mainfield this week was there any Now just a couple reasons um you know Our walkthroughs uh you know anytime We're going to go on walkthrough mode Now that um you know now that soccer Season is over um you know now we can Get in here and uh you know in our Stadium I just think there is something And that's a very that's an important Reason to me you know I mean get in our Stadium familiarity with it um there's The Practical reason it's just a little Bit more convenient for the players um You know and then there's also the Reason of hey give the grass a break Because we're still want to use the Grass and and so just getting off the Grass for a week and allowing them to Put a tarp over and do some things to For the second half of the Season there So we get good usage out of all three Fields what's maras been doing to to Stay ready for Football you know these guys I mean They're in shape you know they're in Shape I mean and it's the he's played Enough footb all that you know I mean You know readapting to the whole idea of Hey our system and understanding it and Looking at offenses and what they do Comes pretty natural to a guy like Blake You have so many injuries on defense Though and only so little maneuvers you
Can Make what is the outlook on a short week To be able to say I know you said you Had meetings and everything and I kind Of asked you about that yesterday but What what changes there from a from a Dep chart standpoint you know it is it's A jigsaw puzzle week to week as you guys Know um you do have to with all the guys On ir and the fact that you only get Eight moving eight guys off you know Scott and I have been sitting down and Talking about that what what that looks Like how are we going to allocate those Eight moves understanding there's still A lot of football to play other guys Could get hurt that need to come off so Little bit of a jigsaw puzzle um what I Find is that you know by the time as you Work through the week it just has a way Of working itself out sometimes you got To make some tough decisions um but you Know I think Scott and his team do a Good job I think our coaches do a good You know we do a good job communicating What our needs are and how we're going To adapt and adjust how uh Chris tab's Going to adjust as a special teams thing Um at this time of the year for every Team it's we have multiple meetings Every day talking about the moving Parts Uh to get it right and to clarify uh Wooten we know he had a knee injury is That a season ending injury um I it I
Don't know it's going to be a while let Me just put it that way um you know Based on the report that I you know that Uh I heard this morning it probably will Be uh season ending um it fairly Significant is Justin Houston season Ending no Frank you never coached DJ Moore obviously um what have you learned About him is you watched the tape this Week and what have you learned about him In talking with guys here the last few Months you know I just know from the Tape Big Time play maker can do it all Vertical threat but also truly one of Those guys that can do it all he is Everyone knows he's the vertical threat But he's a skilled route Runner he can Make the plays deep he can make the Underneath stuff The Crossing R there's Not there's nothing he can't do um so Really a great player and then of course You hear about the person you know you Come in this building and he made quite An impression you know on the people in This building with uh you know who he is As a person Class Act you you had only Been here a couple months when the trade Went went down did you have any say in Like hey let's try to keep that guy or No knew I knew he was a great player but When you find your quarterback you got To go all in there's you and you can't Look back and those are really hard Decisions and especially what makes it
Harder is with a guy like you know even Though I didn't know him you know I know That even be harder for everybody else Here that did know him but you know when You find the quarterback that you want You have to be willing to make that you Have to be willing to make that deal and Um That's just that's just part of the Business that stinks but um you know You're you're taking steps to build a Championship franchise and getting your Quarterback is a big deal and so that's The move we made last question Frank uh What's the latest on Maris hands in Terms of health and then uh and what Will he bring to your defense yeah so Maris right we you know we kind of Started his timeline you know so he's Got 21 days so we can make a decision Anytime in there you know just see how He you know get we got him a little work Today you know just just kind of get him Up and going and uh get him back in fold He's obviously has been working hard in The return to play with our equipment I Mean with our trainers and and strength Staff so he's in good shape you know we Just have to see how quickly he can Adapt and be ready to play in a game but And what he would bring is you know he's He's got some juice he's got Explosiveness he's played good football He's a proven he's a proven winning
Player so he won't play um THS today Sorry yeah I mean nothing we're not even At this point we're just you know at This point we're just kind of ramping Him up slowly and then we haven't even Sat down yet to say okay here's the Final 53 or the final 48 miles had a Miles had a pretty good game second half There you guys gave you a little spark Um will he be back in the starting Lineup how do you approach that running Back situation this week we're just Rotate it I mean and um what's funny is You know it is it's a funny qu not a Funny question but you know sometimes When you know and now Thomas has seen This in scripting the you know the first Plays you know you have to be lary of How you script you know because we Sometimes do plays by hey we want miles To have this play or we want chba to Have this play so you know if Thomas Would deem that hey I want this play and You know you have to be cognizant they Get the who gets the start you know I Mean there's that technicality of who Gets the start um you know right now We're staying the same chuba is kind of The quote unquote starter but I really See it being a pretty rotation between The two of those guys um and you know And still trying to get Raheem in a Little bit where we can all right thank You
