Things to Do in Charlotte North Carolina
Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News
In the city of Charlotte there are plenty of things to do, with a diverse lineup of local and national concerts, shows, sports events, festivals, kids activities, and more. With a thriving dining scene, top-notch shopping, and a growing art culture, there’s something to do every day.
When you’re ready for a break, head to the park and enjoy a picnic or spend time at one of the many public swimming pools. And when the sun goes down, you’ll find the city brimming with clubs, bars, and restaurants serving up the best cocktails, cuisines, and live music in the region.
As for the sports, the city is a hugely passionate fan base and you’ll always find plenty to do around the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets, and BB&T Knights, or at a NASCAR race. And if that’s not enough, the mountains are just an hour and a half away for a weekend of skiing or snowboarding, and you’re within easy driving distance to the Atlantic coast for a beach getaway.
Despite the fact that there’s great public transit, most people choose to drive in the city of Charlotte, which can lead to some of the worst traffic in the Southeast United States. However, if you’re willing to take a bit of a detour, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the city skyline as you wind through the rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
