With a city full of restaurants, bars, shopping centers and museums, Charlotte has something to please all types of people. The metro area also has 35 miles of greenways, and the mountains are just a short drive away. There are several colleges in the area and a number of large corporations that have headquarters here, including Bank of America and Wells Fargo.
Despite being one of the largest cities in North Carolina, Charlotte maintains its small-town feel and residents are very welcoming of newcomers to their community. Sports fans can catch a game at Bojangles’ Coliseum, which is home to the NFL football team and the NBA basketball team. The BB&T Center is home to the NHL Carolina Hurricanes, while the Charlotte Checkers play minor league hockey in the city.
