Charlotte North Carolina – The City That Never Sleeps
Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News
As one of the fastest growing cities in the country Charlotte is home to a number of things that keep it buzzing. The city’s twinkly skyline and surplus of activities are a draw for those looking for Southern comforts with the perks of a metropolitan job market. With a low cost of living compared to other East Coast cities and an average commute time that’s below the national average it’s easy to see why the city has become so popular.
The city’s proximity to universities within the Research Triangle is a big contributor to its thriving economy. Students from the region’s best schools help fuel growth in technology, business, finance, and medicine, bringing with them an abundance of jobs, fresh ideas, and new energy.
Charlotte’s downtown has a lot to offer including a variety of shopping options from traditional malls to unique local destinations like 7th Street Public Market. The marketplace features a selection of bars, bakeries, restaurants, and other shops all in one location. It’s a fun way to experience the city and get a taste of its culture.
Most of Charlotte’s population lives within the central business district known as Uptown. The area is car-centric and as such is prone to traffic backups during rush hour. The traffic is especially heavy around the highways that loop around the city. The LYNX bus system and light rail have helped alleviate some of the congestion but most Charlotte residents will agree that there’s still a lot to be done.
