Things to Do in Charlotte, North Carolina

The city of Charlotte is a diverse one, with the majority of its residents being white, followed by blacks and Asians. The remaining 6 percent of the population is composed of mixed races and various people groups. Charlotte is the second most religious city in the country, with nearly half of residents affiliated with Protestant Christianity. The gender split is nearly even, though, with about 50 percent identifying as female and 50 percent as male. The city’s economy is largely based on its financial sector, but the city has a burgeoning tech scene.

While you’re in Charlotte, consider going on a ghost tour. This ghost tour can be a great activity for couples and is conducted on foot, using candles as light. There are some historical sites in Charlotte, as well as a number of other museums and attractions. The city is also home to the University of North Carolina, a famous landmark. There’s also plenty of fun to be had by fans of auto racing, with the NASCAR Hall of Fame, a museum, and several speedways.

While summer temperatures in Charlotte can be brutal, the nights can be cool and pleasant. Summertime in Charlotte is moderately hot, and it’s also a pleasant time to take advantage of outdoor pools and concerts. Local establishments also sell icy refreshments. Just remember to pack sunscreen! This is a humid subtropical climate, so make sure you stay well-protected against the sun.
