Charlotte has a lot going for it. It’s a beautiful city with plenty of parks and art to explore. The city is a growing hub for excellent food, music and culture. And it’s diverse enough to appeal to all ages and interests. Like many cities that are experiencing rapid growth it has traffic problems that will affect commute times.
It has a lot of energy and ambition, but it’s also down-home southern and welcoming to newcomers. The mix of old and new makes it a vibrant city where people of all walks of life weave their personalities into the historical southern landscape.
The city’s modern center (Uptown) is home to the Levine Museum of the New South, which explores post–Civil War history in the region. Then there’s Discovery Place, a hands–on science museum that kids love and the Charlotte Ballet, North Carolina’s oldest ballet company.
Residents have an easy time finding jobs in Charlotte as it’s one of the best places to find a job in the US. It’s a top city for finance, banking and human resources jobs and also has strong presences in energy industries with companies such as Siemens Inc. and Duke Energy.
Sports are huge in Charlotte as it’s home to teams in all major American sports including the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, NBA’s Charlotte Hornets and BB&T Knights of Triple A baseball. Getting tickets to a game is easy, and once the game’s over there are plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs for fans to go for dinner or drinks.
