What's up JC 100 ready to roll or Publish or ramp up Style no ready to go Ready to go You won't have to have to start on the Cup or anything Jason nah How were you injured I want to talk about you know the injury Or whatever what matters is I'm here I'm 100 I'm ready to go I'm just focused You know I'm getting getting ready for The season how bad was it I'm here focused on the season I'm ready to go I'm 100 do you feel like You you were able to take a lot of good Mental reps though during OTAs to be Prepared for it oh yeah for sure you Know obviously with a new staff new System you know I was still able to you Know watch the DBS out there running Around and still you know get better Even though I was you know sidelined During the time so I'm definitely ready To pick it back up Lumber kind of moved all around what did You see from him uh during the Spring Stan he made a lot of plays on all the Corners everybody was just seeing a Major jump in their level of play uh With this new staff just learning the Whole whole lot more stuff different Stuff Um just getting better every day what's It like playing for Jonathan Cooley That was cool it was cool he a young guy
Got a lot of Swag to him so brings a lot Of energy to the room Um unless you need at DB specifically so It's just been fun Jake notes on the other side of the ball But you know just uh having a number one Pick coming in here Bryce young I mean Do you feel like a certain different Level of excitement coming in this Summer oh yeah oh yeah the number one Pick you know a new coach like I said Just learning a whole whole bunch of Different things Um and yeah Bryce Bryce was great in OTA So I'm excited to get out here and work With him and uh you know hopefully pick Them off once or twice but yeah I Definitely can't wait to work with them Uh yeah we most of the ratings like the Top cornerbacks and stuff all that stuff Bother me but anybody that know me know Like I play Madden all day I'm a real Madden head so it bothered me a little Bit that that I was that low but I I Posted a video and they dm'd me about it And I told them there's no pressure I Just go out there and earn it You had a pre-existing relationship with Rajon Wright How is that relationship kind of grown Since you guys have become teammates I Know you said you kind of factored into Him signing here what went into that Decision what was the conversation like
Um just I actually watched them all last Chance you uh when I was in college and I I told my my roommate at the time I'm Like bro you're going to be in the League like he really can play and um my Best friend ended up getting drafted to Dallas and his older brother got drafted To Dallas and they like real close so It's kind of just keeping it all in the Family so he told me he was coming to Carolina I was definitely excited and Ready for him to gear League talk about having had second Generation sort of adds to know if You've been around the locker rooms You've seen how it operates uh not only Practice but on Game Day what's that Been like you growing up through that Into this party of career now uh it was It was just a blessing you know like you Said having having a dad that did Everything I want to do in this league And even more Um a lot of stuff that a lot of rookies Got to go through I kind of already had Those talks and kind of knew how to Approach certain situations just you Know I've been lucky that my dad played In the league so it's definitely helped My career a lot You've had and get them through the Mental part of that but just Understanding that you can't control Them you know it's always a lot of talk
When a player goes down about you know Him being injury prone or whatever but I don't think people understand that the Player doesn't want to be hurt he's he's More upset than you about you know being Hurt so just telling me to stay focused You know focus on the next day and just You know keep striving to be better now Uh what can you offer what kind of Advice can you offer to some of these Young guys about just the dog days of Camp or just just being here Uh man just just be ready to work you Know it's work you know you don't at the End of the day you're gonna be okay when Camp over just you know put your head Down every day and go to work and try to Earn respect to the coaches your Teammates you know the people around the Building that's that's all you can do It's defensive staff that sort of thing And you you're dressed missing OTAs that Sort of stuff how do you feel like You're maybe a little behind the curve Because you didn't get the on-field Reps And mental reps can only do so much Where do you think you are in terms of Getting acclimated to this system after Missing time oh I was out there for the You know the first part of OTAs and got Some on-field work I mean I was right Before I went down I was actually Starting to get you know real Comfortable in the system you know you
Know we gotta get like two and a half Three weeks here so I'm sure I you know Picked back up where I left off and be Ready when uh week one come complicated Though when Dante's not out there Through the whole off season and Everything and Jeremy's trying to saw it Into a new role how does that come Together Uh yeah it is kind of weird you know not Not having Jack out during you know like You said we got new guys coming in like Uh Vine Um chin working a new position or Whatever but you know we we got Camp to Get it right and uh to be ready for week One Bryce I was installed the headlines the Off season but that's signing a bomb What does that mean for you guys in the Back super big you know super big um Just him and X pair together is like you Know two professors like we call ex Professor X uh and not a Vine here he's Like he's at another level with it too So for me it's extremely big you know Having two guys you can trust behind you As safety and just Vaughn put me on so much game uh and Just seeing how much of a professional He is how you take care of his body uh Every day Um how he in the film room how he knows The Playbook just something big for
Every young guy to you know pick up on And following his footsteps How good you guys Oh man the best in the league I think That's the expectation for every Secondary and it was not there's Something wrong with you like obviously When you go out there you want to be the Best uh limit big plays make a lot of You know big plays on your side of the Ball so that's what we're gonna try to Go out there and do what's your problem Personal bill this season I would win really you know I I feel Like you know since I came in the league Just going into games and y'all know I Talk a lot of junk I feel like we don't You know have a lot of respect at this Organization right now so I feel like going into year three I'm Just so focused on the team and US Winning and getting our respect around This league why do you think that is You know we've been winning a lot of Games so got to turn that around we got To win games You know this division as well as anyone Do you think there's an opportunity you Guys have number one overall pick There's been some transition and Quarterback for the other teams is there An opportunity for you guys to sort of Seize control yeah yeah obviously it's a Huge opportunity for us to you know win
A division and make some noise but these Are days they matter we gotta no matter What we got on paper the number one pick Uh all these defensive Acquisitions no Matter if you don't put in the work so We're gonna try to go out here and do That over these next couple weeks I think just camaraderie as a team one I Think that's you know the biggest thing We want to get out of Camp Um and just just figuring each other out You know in the back end especially you Know figuring out God's strengths and Weaknesses uh what you can do with this Person behind you or you know what I'm Saying I'll post another person covering You Um it's just a lot of different things We gotta you know work out and we're Gonna get it worked out throughout these Two weeks I'm sorry A couple weeks away but is it nice to Have sort of that carrot on a stick with The Jets coming in here and Aaron Rodgers to have that kind of get through These Dog Days yeah it's definitely you Know a huge opportunity you know Aaron Rodgers one of the greatest QBs to play This game Um so you got a guy like him coming in And you know they got a good receiving Car over there and they got a great Defense so it'll be you know good for Our offense too and it's going to be a
