Charlotte, North Carolina – A Great Place to Relocate

The area of Charlotte, North Carolina was first settled by European colonists around 1755. In 1756, Thomas Spratt, the great-uncle of U.S. President James K. Polk, moved to the area and built a house near the intersection of two Native American trading paths – one running north-south along the Great Wagon Road, and the other east-west along Trade Street. The town was incorporated in November 1768 and streets were platted in four wards.

Charlotte has a thriving arts and cultural scene. The Charlotte Symphony, Charlotte Ballet, and Opera Carolina perform at local theaters. In 2018, Hamilton was one of the top shows at Charlotte’s Knight Theater. And if you like sports, Charlotte is home to many professional and amateur sports teams.
