Charlotte North Carolina Offers a Balance of Southern Comforts and Metropolitan Opportunities
Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News
As one of the most popular cities for new home communities in North Carolina, Charlotte offers a balance of Southern comforts with metropolitan opportunities. Its strong economy and balanced cost of living make it an ideal place to live for many families.
There is a wide range of employment options available in the city and its surrounding suburbs. The finance industry is heavily represented with Bank of America and Wells Fargo among the top employers, while energy and healthcare are also big industries in the area. Multiple highly ranked hospitals and medical centers are located in the region, including Novant Health and Carolinas Medical Center.
Charlotte offers a great deal of entertainment for its residents and visitors alike. There are plenty of live music venues for those who love to see touring acts, from the Tremont Music Hall to more intimate spaces like The Milestone Club. For a more high culture fix, the Levine Center for the Arts features regular performances from the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and the North Carolina Dance Theatre.
Sports fans in Charlotte will have no trouble finding a game to watch, with NFL football, NBA basketball, professional hockey, baseball and soccer all playing their home games in the city. The city is also famous for NASCAR, with the Charlotte Motor Speedway and the NASCAR Hall of Fame being must-see attractions.
Outdoor enthusiasts are well-served in Charlotte with 35 miles of greenways for hiking and jogging, whitewater rafting on the Catawba River and paddleboarding. The city has a humid subtropical climate, so summers can be hot and humid while spring and fall are mild. Winters are typically damp and cool, but the city is far enough inland that it does not experience most major hurricanes that hit the east coast.
