Taylor spoke about the defense competing at a high level.
Evening going to start Seeing how would you assess your Camp so Far we've seen you make a lot of plays On the ball the first week and a half uh I think I've done a solid job you know Just trying to take it one day at a time Trying to stay consistent Um you know just put it in work so Um really just want to you know get my Uh pressed man back to the way it was Um I'll say uh you know really just you Know making the most of any opportunity I get so that was really my main goal Coming into camp Uh so an off season um I got with a lot Of receivers um you know just getting Like some uh some one-on-one reps or Release reps Um you know again with uh you know I'm On Ross ain't Brown Um you know those of that nature Um you know just trying to you know keep It uh keep it intact for you know when I Come to camp and everything Out in Los Angeles California yeah It has been big man uh you know all pro Corner Um you know he had 40 picks in the League so you know there's a lot of Respect for him Um you know anytime he has a word to say In the room the whole room goes silent So you know everybody takes his coaching Point so everybody respects him
Wrong question I know you went to Washington what are your thoughts of you Know them doing big things out Uh so man I mean I mean it is what it is at the same at The end of the day I mean uh my in my Opinion I think the Paxil kind of been On the downhill over the last couple Years nobody really had respect for the Pac-12 so you know I think it's a big Move Um for uh you know UW and Oregon to you Know Branch out a little bit Um I will only say like the only Downside to that is like you know you Gotta you gotta play Ruck at Rutgers one Week and then you gotta you might have To stay up there like an extra week Playing against like Penn State or Something that's gonna probably be the Downside of it but I think it's gonna be Big for him Huh what was that Oh yeah yeah man Yeah no yeah no I mean shoot at the end Of the day it's gonna be you know it's Gonna be uh um what do you call this Gonna be a hostile environment for them To play in um so you know it's gonna be Exciting see the next couple years Washington State I mean I mean for the State of Washington I guess like that Was To me to me it's like you know we we
Blew them out every year so you know I Wasn't I wasn't trying to like the real The real rivalry was versus Oregon gear So but I'm glad Oregon came with us or You know we're gonna but both of them Going to Big Ten so What's up sir I would say like being more patient at The line of scrimmage not being too Antsy Um you know using my hands a lot more I'm using my length so you know just Things of that nature Um I think it was a lot of great uh Communication we you know we don't are Not dominated we'll try to dominate uh Um but uh just competing overall Um you know yesterday uh we took the we Had the sales off you know it was more Of a lighter day today we had to really Come out and uh you know try to Um you know build off yesterday so you Know I think we did a really good job of That Bryce has some frustrating times I Don't know you're a cornerback you're Trying to make the quarterback Frustrated but is there like He is he is our future is there a Balance there um I want to support him But also you know what I'm saying I mean You know every day you're going to Compete anyway so I mean uh you know we We the Usher has a defense we see it in Him like we we know that's the guy like
He been like he'd been throwing some Dots man like I'm not gonna lie to you Guys like he didn't even really putting It on those receivers man so Um other than that you know anytime we Try to talk mess to him you know Obviously we don't know we're gonna give Him something but you know at the end of The day you know that's our teammate so No we like where we're at Like maybe uh burn Swift on a rush or Rice made a move and then the next play Like it looked like Burns was not going To be denied no I didn't see that one Yeah I'm gonna have to check the field I Don't know what was that uh what was That today oh no I didn't see that no I Have to check out the film on that None to see that Situation where their top it's Sweltering it's week two you're playing Against the same guys but you appreciate Days like today later yeah for sure man Like like today I was I'll be honest Like I was dead tired um so you know but It's gonna help in the long run for sure So yeah I'm really appreciative Appreciative of that so Um should I love new coaches have uh This defense Um I ran the same defense you know The same type of scheme in uh in college So I'm used to this so Um you know I've been I've been pretty
Happy about it you know it's very very Simple Um you know everybody it's a lot of Moving Parts but at the same at the same Time it's you know you know simple Simplicity to it so Mm-hmm Like um well to me um it's not much gray Area in a lot of the calls um you know You have your assignment and you know That's your assignment so you know and You just play free within that within That role so that's that's what I see For it yeah all right thank you
