From music festivals to craft brew tastings, Charlotte has a variety of fun ways to spend your time. The Queen City is also home to a number of outstanding museums, including Discovery Place Science and the Mint Museum. The area has plenty of sports action, with fans cheering on the Carolina Panthers, the Charlotte Hornets (who were recently renamed by Michael Jordan) and NASCAR drivers.
Life in Charlotte
One of the biggest draws to Charlotte is its excellent job market, with top companies such as Bank of America and Wells Fargo locating their headquarters here. Salaries in finance, management, insurance, IT, and healthcare are competitive with those in other large cities.
In addition to the thriving business scene, Charlotte is a great place for families, with multiple highly-rated schools and hospitals. Multiple medical centers have received national attention for their commitment to quality, such as Novant Health (which includes a children’s hospital and St. Jude affiliate clinic) and Atrium Health.
The local golf scene is also strong, with several private courses. Many are a part of a country club, but there are also public courses for those who want to avoid the high membership fees.
The winters here are fairly mild, with average temperatures in the 60s to low 80s. However, the summers can be quite hot and humid. The best time of year to enjoy outdoor activities is spring and fall, when the weather is milder but still nice.
