Heavy rain, high winds and the threat of tornadoes will move into Charlotte and the Carolinas overnight and through Friday because Nicole, WCNC Charlotte chief meteorologist Brad Panovich said.

Panovich said Nicole, which made landfall as a hurricane in Florida early Thursday, has a straightforward track with impacts across the Carolinas and the Southeast. The storm will dump heavy rain and bring strong winds with it – and even the possibility of tornadoes.
