Events, Life, Sports, Weather, News

As one of the largest cities in North Carolina Charlotte has everything you would expect from a modern city. From heated sporting battles, chart-topping entertainers and colorful city celebrations Charlotte has something for everyone. The young ones will enjoy Carowinds and Discovery Place while the outdoor enthusiast can take advantage of recreation choices like the US National Whitewater Center, Lake Norman and Lake Wylie.

In terms of business Charlotte is home to many large organizations including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Lowe’s. The city also has a strong health care and social work sector as well as some major tech companies that have set up their headquarters in Charlotte.

If you’re a big sports fan then you will be in heaven when you move to Charlotte as the city is home to the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte Hornets. Both teams have a devoted following with their bright team colors and merchandise.

For families moving to Charlotte with kids, there are several top rated schools in the area. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system is ranked as the 5th best in the country according to Niche. Tuition at public four-year colleges is also relatively inexpensive compared to the rest of the nation. The city also has a good selection of private and religious colleges. It is a great location for those who want to get away from the crowded and expensive areas of New York, Chicago or LA but want to keep a close-knit community with a lower cost of living.
