Charlotte North Carolina – A Great Place to Live
Charlotte was once the site of America’s first gold rush. The federal government later opened a branch of the US Mint here. Its Mint Museum is a historical site that you can tour. Once upon a time, Charlotte’s streets were literally paved with gold. Today, you can see a few of these streets in TV shows like Homeland and in movies. Charlotte was also twice chosen to host presidential nominating conventions.
Charlotte is located in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, a broad belt of hills and rolling plains that stretches from Virginia to Georgia and from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the flat Atlantic Ocean. Until the late 1750s, the region was populated by Catawba Indians. The Catawba River flows through this region and was named after them. By that time, however, the eastern part of the Carolinas had already been settled.
Charlotte is home to a number of highly rated public schools. According to Niche, a website that helps residents find the best schools, Charlotte boasts a B+ in the public school category, which puts it higher than many large U.S. cities. Charlotte is also home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the Carolinas. The city has two major synagogues. It is also home to many Southern Baptist churches.
Charlotte is also famous for its thriving beer and wine scene. There are hundreds of breweries and vineyards in the area. There are several unique experiences to be had in Charlotte, and Charlotte is a wonderful place to live and visit.
